Default Suggestion to Resolve Complaints Over Raid Gear

I'll be brief. I can't stand reading pompous suggestion essays, much less writing them.

Trion already has a ELO score to provide a rough measure of skill/competence/contributions-towards-wins in warfronts. I suggest the creation of a weekly reward box that would combine a form of ELO score (lets call it a IKA score for now) with frequency/duration of PvP activities to provide PvP items or marks/currency that can be spent to obtain superior gear.

Items: If Trion chooses to go with items, the quality of items would be determined by a player's IKA score. Items would be tiered, and each tear matched with a range of IKA scores: 1-500 IKA = tier 1; 500-900 = tier 2; etc). IKA scores would be determined by such factors as total damage, kbs, total healing, objectives met/duration of time holding objectives. The amount of items provided would be determined by amount of participation in PvP (time spent in warfronts/CQ/flagged for PvP in open world).

Currency/marks: If Trion chooses to go with currency instead, it could choose to either provide: currency that would speed up the progression towards PvP and/or raid gear or currency that would lead to a separate set of gear. Quality of marks can be tied to the IKA score as well.

The point of this system, aside from getting PvPers better gear (or faster progression to existing gear), is to provide an avenue for PvPers to get better gear via skillful play, rather than just participation. Skilled PvPers could be given an avenue with which to differentiate themselves in the same way that top Raiders currently can: by having access to items that are gained solely through skill, rather than just time played.

A secondary benefit of this system: attaching material rewards to warfront objectives as well as KB/damage/heal/etc would encourage better play from people on the losing side of a battle. rather than quit or go AFK, PvPer would be encouraged to perform actions (capping, defending objectives) that would make recovery more possible. This would lead to less lob-sided matches and a better PvP experience overall.

If gear was tied to ELO then only like 5 people would get any decent gear. In a game with no pvp rewards for being good the playerbase is automatically bad.

... then introducing PvP rewards for being good would provide incentives for people to improve their play, no?

Yes, and many of us have asked for this since 3.0 came out. Reward people for achievements- not just for showing up.

Thought that was the purpose of the winners Marauder's Box?

Just restrict the amount of people who can swap heal. Question up for wfs as a certain role and make top bolstering work like it was intended.

If that's to much work pvp gear is also a option /giggle

If they boost pvp gear Raiders might get upset and in a pve game that's not desirable

Wouldn't these raiders want more people to raid and do experts with? I mean that's the dilemma PVP players are facing, more inexperienced people to PVP with, and we're rolling with the punches quite respectfully if you ask me. Most good PVPers would agree, the more the merrier.

Don't raiders don't look at it this way????

No, because if you're good you'd be in a raid guild and have raid gear or be working towards it already by raiding with your guild.

People don't PUG progression unless it's a last resort. Even then, they'd still rather cancel the night than take an unknown PUG.

Well, it seems they are going to boost PvP gear, as well as look into the cost of the gear... making the primary point of this thread obsolete.

I wouldn't mind seeing a system implemented to reward skilled play in the warfronts, but that takes a back seat to the current gearing issue.

well...it was actually a rhetorical question.....to illustrate a little point I was trying....

    you know what forget it.

The more the merrier....it's still a valid mind set.
