Default PvP Weapon Primary Stat Question:

So, I realize this is a very knit-picky detail, but I was wondering if someone could explain this for me:

In regards to the Off-hand/Ranged PvP weapon slots, each class has a Primary/Secondary Stat trade-off EXCEPT Rogues...

    PvP Weapon Primary Stat Question:-pvp-weapon-stats.jpg

Clerics have 1 main stat/1 off stat
Mages have 1 main stat/1 off stat
Warriors have 1 main stat/1 off stat

Rogues on the other hand... *BOTH* main stats. Uhhhh..... Am I missing something here? With Warlord weapons, that's a +20 main stat advantage.

    Anyone?

Yes. All the other Class PvP gear main stat/off stat values are the same:

    Helm - 57/37
    Neck - 53/35
    Cape - 56/38
    Shoulders - 57/37
    Chest - 64/45
    Gloves - 49/32
    Belt - 49/32
    Legs - 64/45
    Feet - 49/32
    Ring (x2) -45/29
    Trinket - 59/41

The only difference is that Rogues gain the benefit of both offhand/ranged having primary main stats, where the other 3 classes sacrifice 1 item having the primary off-stat.

I think it's common knowledge that Rogues are favored in this game.

Weird then. Pm Daglar, or a class dev.

Also remind them the 2hands still lose stats.

The amount of time this was brought up and its still the case is quite vexing.

    here's the solution:
give mages their own ranged wep
give cleric their own totem wep
change 1 of the ranged weps for warrior/rogue the same stat. guns and bows have the same stats for w/e reason.

this would solve the little problem

oh and while they're at it, take a look at the difference between mage staff vs sword+totem. difference is too big. same goes for cleric hammer vs mace+totem.
i think a mage looks magey with a staff. but i dont have the staff becouse it's useless and a waste of favor (well, at least it's something to waste favor on...)

lol not gonna happen, devs are far too busy adjusting pve. they dont have time or budget invested in pvp, you should know that by now

It saddens me to see what Rift pvp has become. The laughing stock of the gaming world.

I think you got Mage and Cleric swapped, but...

Yeah, I'm not sure why they didn't do this in the first place. There was that big push for gear stat normalization to put an emphasis on primary stats, and then it's like they just completely discounted the 3 items: Mage Off-Hand, Cleric Wand, Warrior Ranged.

rogues may benefit from the off hand weapon but in return warriors have 2 rune slots, legs/helm that are str. oriented while rogues do not have dex runes for those 2 gear slots.

keep telling yourself that rogues have it all.....

That 10 AP so strong, obviously makes every Rogue better than every Warrior.

Uh, Ehxon... I'm not sure you understand how runes work, so, lemme e'splain. What you think is a disadvantage, actually ends up being (yet another) Rogue advantage (yep, you're going to be surprised!)

    Epic Rune by Slot Explanation:

Classes *share* BIS enchants for Primary/Secondary Stats, as such:

    Mage/Cleric Enchants
    Head: +32 Wis
    Shoulders: +32 Int
    Chest: +35 Int/+15 Spell Power
    Legs: +35 Wis/+15 Spell Power

    Warrior/Rogue Enchants
    Head: +32 Str
    Shoulders: +32 Dex
    Chest: +35 Dex/+15 Attack Power
    Legs: +35 Str/+15 Attack Power

So, what you think is unbalanced, is just swapping gear slot stat runes for each class... 2 primary stats, 2 secondary stats.

As you can see, Warriors do have +Str Runes for Helm/Legs, but they have to use +Dex Runes for Shoulders/Chest. Rogues use +Dex Runes for Shoulders/Chest, +Str Runes for Helm/Legs... the same runes, same stats! This is the same for Clerics and Mages.

HOWEVER, this is awesome (since you brought it up) let's not stop there...

Let's look at the Runecrafting mats for these runes!

    Solidifying Star: 17p
    Dreaming Star: 115p

    Rogue Epic Rune = 4x Solidifying Star = 68p
    Mage Epic Rune = 4x Solidifying Star = 68p
    Warrior Epic Rune = 4x Dreaming Star = 460p!
    Cleric Epic Rune = 4x Dreaming Star = 460p!

Yeah... you see that right! Not only are the stats for Rogues and Warriors the same, as you claimed they were not, Warrior and Cleric Epic Rune prices are INSANELY HIGHER compared to Rogue and Mage Epic Runes.

So, not only do you get +20 primary stat over every other class, Warrior and Cleric BIS Epic Runes are 700% more expensive than the Rogue and Mage BIS Epic Runes!

    Nice try though!

This just goes to show you that some people will find anything to complain about or say that so and so have an advantage of some type while ignoring the big picture. The callings are completely different and serve different purposes and roles. Ever think that these things are put in place to keep things balanced and that it's intended?

    This ^^^^^^

Not to mention you seem to have missed the very first sentence in the very first post:

"So, I realize this is a very knit-picky detail, but..."

Epic attempt at trying to invalidate the thread though, Delmlord!
