strictly for pvp I would say cleric, mages fold under pressure for the most part
    Icecubetray - 60 Rogue
    Bongmaster - 60 Mage
    Tronzilla - 60 Warrior
    Herpzalot - 60 Cleric
    Stickybudz - 55 Cleric

54 defiler or 61 defiler, depending on how much cleansing and speed boosting you want to be doing.

My sig has some tips if you want them.

Cleric is considerably more survivable in PvP.

Yes ST cleric (sentinel or defiler) handle better being focused, because simbiosis can't be cast on self.

Chloro is a strong "all-in-one" healing soul, but if you want to do healing only, I would choose cleric, simply because there is more variety in healing gamplay, so less likely to be bored.

Purifier build currently the best, but also Sent/puri is also a nice one too. But don't rely on it too much because 2.2 all healing bugs will be fixed and all our heals will be decreased.

You will have many options to choose from for cleric. It won't be about one or two specs for healing. You will be more dependent on synergy from the heal support and tank specs instead of relying on other healers to fulfill all the other roles. It will be more balanced. You may want to use warden in scion if there are not many warden types. You may want to use sent in bg or rm and defiler in dex etc. You may want to stick to healing a tank spec or frontline pusher with puri etc. You will probably rely on support from bard and cloro. It will be a bit more balanced but the imbalance will still remain.. Since only 2 of 4 classes can actually heal good you will be stuck in warfronts where your healing feel weak sometimes since other classes will not want to role a vk or bard or cloro etc. Still going to be easy mode when they have a bad team with no heals which is going to be super common because cleric/mages are looking for an excuse to not heal and they are going to get one next patch.

I disagree. I'd say Defiler builds are easily the best right now.
