Default My thanks for the Silence DR Being reinstated

This is the first constructive pvp change in quite a while. This will be a quality of life increase for casties everyplace.

But, what took so long? Rogues and warrior casters already are not affected by Silence, and have been tearin it up as a result.

yes. the reason warrior and rogue "casters" have been tearing it up is because they are immune to silence...

    Icecubetray - 60 Rogue
    Bongmaster - 60 Mage
    Tronzilla - 60 Warrior
    Herpzalot - 60 Cleric
    Stickybudz - 55 Cleric

Casters also have more control abilities and hit harder than warriors/rogues.

So basically you're saying that your thanks is a lack of gratitude. Nice.

Actually, the fact that tempest and mm/tact are not affected by silences is, in fact (so many facts!), an enormous glaring issue. Back when "ranged dps" was almost entirely the province of mana users, it made sense to have an exclusive category of cc that specifically targeted ranged dps. It was a solid balancing factor, and you only had to suffer mm as the sole outlier - the one "ranged dps" who wouldn't be vulnerable.

But now, with tempest? You've effectively doubled the number of ranged dps who aren't vulnerable to silence. It's a subtle but important shift in the meta, and it's a big reason why ranged rules in pvp. No real reason to play a melee warrior over a ranged one - not when you hit just as hard while suffering no penalties for your delivery system.

This is also why mage/cleric dps are sort of second-class citizens right now. That added vulnerability, spread across however many abilities and seemingly every soul, generates an overall reduction in dps uptime - a reduction that definitely puts blue bars at a disadvantage.

Only disarm for mages is Burn in the pyro tree.

Where as silences can be found aplenty.

not really the rogue only has 1 actual silence and you have to be coming from stealth. the other 2 are silences if you interrupt. starting to see alot more insta-casts now and days

You do realize you proved my point by showing Rogues have several silences to a Mages single disarm right?

Heck the Rogue calling itself only has one disarm iirc.
Warrors have like 2 or 3.

Since when is Sab a good pvp build? I would not touch it even for its aoe silence.

Tell that to Brutalix, or Nutcracking. Hell I have even seen Twizm rock a mean Sabo build in pvp. I find your lack of observation disturbing. /mindchoke

Not many of us left using sab but it can still be useful.
