Default How do you not die in 4 seconds?

I swear every WF I try on my mage or my cleric no matter how many specs I try they just charge, mash a macro that waves a massive 2 hander around, then my release button pops up 3 seconds later. Sure I can go tank spec on my cleric but you never hurt anything and you still die just takes a few seconds longer. Also getting heals off is impossible. Other than just rolling a rogue and staying in stealth the whole time or joining the warrior club how do you not be free kills in every WF. And if its not warriors its MM rogues and then its just pew pew rez, pew pew rez. Starting to think I rolled the wrong classes for PvP.

Or you can do what everyone else do: Ranged stun, AoE, AoE, profit.

If you let warriors charge in and kill you guys in one swipe, I'd sure as hell hate to PvP with you.

Seriously, learn your class. Good mage & cleric teams can kill a bunch of melee from range even before they smash their charge hotkeys.

You can do other specs but really mages should just spec pyro dominators.

Fireballs, squirrels, CC and flickers. Not sure why one would pass that up.

I don't ever die that quick as a healing cleric.

Mages have one Flicker to escape.

Warriors and Rogues have hundreds of thousands of gap-closers.

So there is no escape for Mages.

If someone melee gets within 30 meters of you, you're pretty much dead. You'll get used to it (or stop queueing).

my favourite part was when you separated "squirrel" from "CC" to make the list look longer

Learn to position yourself, your squishy and you should never be at the front unless you like rezzing a lot (this is probably the most important of all) .....

Learn to LOS ppl, see that pretty scenery? Its darn useful.....

Learn support specs, I'd rather have a a R1 Archon debuffing ppl than a R1 trying to do damage - far more useful.....

Learn to accept the fact that charging head first into a group of Warriors/Rogues is going to get you killed, don't try and be a commando......

It does get better as you go higher up to the ranks and improve your gear, but just remember your squishy and you will drop if several melees get on you (top point, can't stress enough how much this can make a diff)

It's tough at the bottom ranks for a mage and I do agree that Trion need to look at the WF matching system because it really just isn't working properly, but don't think that you can't make a difference!

move BEFORE the warrior is in his charge range... positioning you know?

besides: our mage (which is my pocket healer) holds out against 2 Warriors long enough, so i can come back and kill those. So it IS possible!

My r40 has come across plenty of clerics and mages that are a pain to kill even when isolated. Played right they are a nightmare. 30m range against my 20m gap closer already gives an advantage. If you mess up and they get close then squirrel and run again. Though truth be told there have been plenty that can just stand there toe to toe with my warrior and only very slowly die. Admittedly in those situations there is normally support for them

I'm currently leveling my new mage up through the p ranks and the above is true.

You really need to think ahead. That MM starts targetting you? flicker/escape/whatever out of range right away. You have to pre-empt and not wait until you're being focussed.

Always think about positioning in a group so that you wont be the first to be focussed - even taking in to account "could someone come at me from behind/the side why i'm pewpewing?"

It's a different experience from my rogue, but a lot of fun.

So what are you doing in 1:1 Situations? Just Flicker and run?

Donīt forget about their gap-closers and increased movement speed...
