New WF Idea for Rift
SAVE THE VK!!!
Scion is a time-inefficient favor generator. Including other warfronts brings the gearing threshold down.
For a gear and level-driven progression game, 50 hours of warfront time is not an unreasonable expectation for the 'half way' point, especially considering other potential avenues for favour generation (e.g. PvP daily quests, special event bonuses, vials). I would make the argument that a player can easily be competitive with the earliest tier of gear, though they have to rely on different roles, playstyles, and specs than one would gravitate towards at higher gear plateaus (because their offensive output is not going to be there).
If you told me that in 25 days of non-excessive play (after hitting 50) I'd be 'competitive', gear-wise, with people playing from launch, I wouldn't complain too loudly (actually, I'd think that was pretty solid), especially if a new bolstering system was going to be incorporated to help bring the floor up, and gear costs were actually being reduced, as is the case with the upcoming patch. I can tell you it took me far more than that length of time to get 'suitably geared' for some of the raid content (solo queuing and pugging -- playing with a guild sped things up, as it certainly can for warfront favor/prestige generation).
So I think that complaint does not hold particularly strong merit. A short time investment (one subscription cycle of moderate play) to hit the midpoint in PvP-gear competitiveness is not unreasonable or detrimental for the MMORPG model. If you don't like it, your issues are with the genre and not with Rift.
Edit: Also, the PvP rift complaint screams 'chase the carrot' to me. PvP rifts can make for good, locationally varying focal points to fight over, but kids just want the candy and if the candy isn't there they hide in their cities.

What rank are you?
800k in a PS is not a lot by any means.
And again to get the FotM damage you have to go full tilt DPS and you will not have 11k health
however I wil say that with a pocket healer warriors in the FotM can be devastating. But then again what DPS class couldn't cause major havoc with a pocket healer?

I'm currently R31. I wear Nihilist Helm, legs, boots, belt, neck, both rings and gloves. Everything else is HK relic or ID. If 800K is not a lot in Port Scion then I was extremely unlucky this weekend as nobody even got close to 1,000,000 damage done in any of the games I played - which I would have been aware of as I was actively competing as Sabo to try and be the top damage done and thus monitoring it closely.

I can count on two hands the number of times I've seen a sab break 700k in Scion. Its heavily dependant on the match itself. I've also seen a very small amount of matches where sabs (myself included) have done over 1 mil. The highest I've ever seen was close to 2 mil. But the majority of Port Scion matches the top parses are between 300 and 500k wether they are sab, mage or warrior (all are capable of producing huge numbers in Scion).

Congratulations on your ability to break 1,000,000 damage done in Port Scion. I promise you that not a single person in this thread cares much about your achievement and we think nothing more of you because of it. We're here discussing the PvP gear grind and, as a digression, we're discussing how it could be possible for a Warrior to out-damage a Saboteur in a Warfront. If you have something constructive to provide, please do so but please keep the e-peen tucked away.

Do you want a cookie? Cause I can give you one if thats what you want?
I didn't do any Scion this weekend except one match late Sunday night. I spent the majority of the weekend in Guild Wars 2.
I dunno what wargroup you are in, maybe we have more low ranked sabs like myself in ours. I'm only rank 27. I know for sure that in Battlegroup most of the really big sab numbers I have seen posted were from Violecea.
