Default Basketball: we need new maps! Same 2-basket square every match!!

They really need new types of courts and rules for basketball. I mean, they've been repetitively playing on the same simple two-basket square for decades!

Why are you comparing a game of skill to Rift?

I say make the court round and the baskets squared!

Having three teams instead of two would solve all the problems.
Have a Hexagonal shaped court with three baskets.

Or change the basketball to a bowling ball... lets see you make a 3-pointer now!

That actually wasn't implied at all.

Actually you specifically stated Rift, implying that Rift isn't a game that doesn't require skill as compared to other games. Otherwise the correct sentence would be "Why are you comparing a game of skill to videogames"
Even free cost too much now

Incorrect. The OP's comparison was between Basketball and Rift's random WF pugs because that is where the OP made the original statement in another thread.

There was an incredible Quake 2 mod a long time ago called "pong"

I was based around I think 3 teams rotating. The map incorporated a spectator area to watch it like an arena style game. The two teams had a decent sized map and in the map there were GIANT pong balls. You could shoot them to move them and give them momentum. If they were going fast enough they killed people if they got in their path (lol) and you had to kind of play a large scale soccer styled game - think each side also had goals and a sense of 'bases' (of course they were open enough to allow the style of gameplay to work wel).

I just remember it being kind of ridiculous and really fun. I don't know how that would translate to MMO terms but, what a mod.

Also would love freeze-tag rules set in rift, or atleast an attempt maybe for a bonus weekend map. Last man standing with the twist of when you 'die' you don't actually die but just freeze. You can become unfrozen if a team mate stands by you for ~4s (guess it would be a clicky in this game). When a whole team freezes they lose. Series of rounds.

Of course so many rule sets revolve around the inevitable outcome of having to wait time to time. I have a feeling Trion doesn't want to go towards any ruleset that will require 'waiting' as a potential penalty. It just sucks because so many awesome pvp styled rule sets like freeze tag, jailbreak, last man standing, rotational team game - all require waiting. But the ones that you have to wait occasionally for imo bring some of the highest quality gameplay. Like...quality of quantity.

Hey guise, I posted a ****ty analogy as a response to a post in another thread.

Should I make an entire thread devoted to this crappy analogy?

    *crickets*

I'll go ahead and make it.

OP is talking about how people say a lack of different wf maps create stale and repetitive pvp, but popular sports like basketball have even less variety in setting.
