Default How to Kill A Warden: The Definitive Guide

By now we all know that Wardens are due for a nerf in 1.8. When Trion announced this change, DPS everywhere joined in a collective cheer.

But 1.8 isn't here yet, and in Warfronts you will still encounter Wardens. They are vile cheaters and dishonorable players who engage in cheesy tactics like "pillar humping," and until they get their proper comeuppance via a nerf, you need ways to kill them.

Section I - You Have Abilities You've Never Used!

Press "P" to open up your abilities window. It's likely you haven't looked at this pane much since you hit 50 or since your last respec, so familiarize yourself with its contents.

Under your calling tabs, you'll notice two basic kinds of abilities - DPS abilities, which include all the awesome stuff that lets you top the damage charts in every WF, and obscure abilities that don't do any damage. (!)

Take stock of those extra abilities, particularly those labeled "control." Drag them onto your hotbar. You may want to keybind them to make it easier to incorporate these abilities in between your one-button rotation macro.

Section II - Biting the Bullet

While trying out your new abilities, you'll notice some things: You and your teammates can prevent the Warden from moving or casting; drain the Warden's mana; Purge the Warden's HoTs; turn the Warden into a squirrel; fear the Warden, and so on.

But none of these abilities do DPS! Some of them require you to look at buffs and debuffs. WTF?

Section III - Deflecting the Responsibility

You are an awesome DPS. You owe it to yourself to top the damage and KB charts in every single Warfront, but more importantly, you owe it to the PvP forum, where thousands of players wait for you to post screenshots showing your awesome numbers.

Taking all this into account, YOU should not interrupt your one-button macro rotation and use precious GCD on non-DPS abilities. You have a reputation to maintain. While you are waiting for the match to begin, do an /inspect on the players around you and locate the scrubs. Scrubs are players who are less awesome than you and do not have the same awesome gear and weapons you do, because they're scrubs.

Section IV - Getting Scrubs To Do Non-DPS Dirty Work.

By now, you should have instructed the scrubs on your team to follow your orders and use their many crowd control abilities while you nuke the Wardens with your amazing DPS. When you spot a Warden, order your scrubs to attack.

A good plan of attack might look like this: Deploy one scrub to drain mana and purge. Order a second scrub to stun or silence the Warden. Instruct your scrubs to pay attention to the Warden's HP bar. A good idea is saving a big stun or silence for the very end, when your incredibly awesome DPS has the Warden down to like 30%.

Section V - The Warden Is Dead, Now You Revel In KBs

With the Warden dead, the real fun begins! Order your scrubs to follow your lead as you march triumphantly toward the remaining enemies. They have no healer anymore! If they are smart, they will run away because your DPS is awesome and they will die.

If they don't, press your one-button DPS macro, stand in one spot, and enjoy the KBs racking up!!! A good idea is to keep the stats window open while you do this, so you can see the pretty KB and Damage columns fill up with more big numbers!!!

And there you have it. You will be doing them a favor, so by the time the 1.8 patch is out, they will be used to dying all the time. Go on with your bad self, and kill those cheating Wardens!

How to kill a healer 101
    If you're a Rogue, 51/15 MM/RNG

If you're a Warrior, anything with LW will kill it eventually.

    If you're a Mage, Pyrodom.

If you're a Cleric, you should be healing, not DPSing you selfish jerkface.

Well I don't understand how we need another nerf. From my time here they've reduced pvp healing and nerfed waterjet. Does 1.8 bring a new contortion form for wardens? Bend over with hua healing?
