I've been twinking a bit on my cleric. lvl 10-19, most matches were close. lvl 20-29 - again, mostly close matches. Now I'm twinking 30-39 until I get bored (don't worry, it doesn't take long). Again.... CLOSE MATCHES. I haven't seen very many facerolls. I'm just not seeing how twinks are ruining warfronts. If anything - they make them run better because they already understand the way each warfront works, what strategy to use, etc etc.
I think, if anything, it's a good incentive for lower levels to want to gear up better (guild crafted stuff, drops from instances...) before progressing. You know how many green gears I've seen in level 50 warfronts?!!
Anyway, don't cry because you die. You would die if there were no OP classes, you would die if there were no FoTM builds, you will die if people weren't geared to the teeth, and you will die if there were no twinks. Look down at your feet... See them bootstraps? ;)
The big picture you aren't getting is that Twinking works great for damage dealers. The GEAR (which this game revolves around) doesn't scale well with healing at all.
I could be in full purples, and a DPS could be in full purples and he'll tear me down in 3-4 GCDs. The healing simply cannot keep up.
Answer to your twinking problem.. get everyone to do their job.. and twinks are null and void.. yeah i know sounds real easy.. but since I rerolled a bard.. and learned the magics of debuffing.. twinks are meaniless now... they can do whatever they want but if you get all your bards or classes that has debuffs.. mark the twinks..debuff them down... now they are your level, in some cases even lower... once twinks start seeing this.. they will disappear, if not then im going to have all sorts of fun

Why not just introduce a set of PVP gear for lower levels? This is how they balance out raid gear versus PVP gear at 50. The current PVP gear is not bad, but it's located all over the map and most new players don't know where to find it in the first place. Also PVP with 3 valor is useless. Add at 5-10 valor per piece, make it a set you can buy in the main city, and you just leveled the field a lot. Might not be as good as crafted twink gear, but having a couple hundred valor and some decent stats on the set will help a lot. No runes, signals etc, just a basic armor set. If twinks want to use that armor that's fine they have to choose between that and their epic crafted loot.
Edit, forgot they already have the baby PVP sigil, but that's fine.

Currently leveling up an alt in PvP and, speaking from my own personal experience, the twinking is having an adverse affect on competitive gameplay. Seeing 1-3 twinks in a PuG WF basically whiskey tango foxtrot rofl stomp every opponent they engage is no good.
Couple of ideas to help improve things:
- A locked experience bar means a greater chance of being paired up against other twinks. I personally like this idea, bet it would make for some really intense PvP.
- Brings some of those fancy Life Wells and Cannons that we see in EI over to our warfronts. My side has X number of twinks, your side gets some cannons and life wells to help even the odds and keep things interesting.
Regardless of how things evolve, two outcomes I'd rather see less of. 1. Other side gives up and doesn't participate. - or - 2. Players migrate to other games for PvP.
We need more twinks is all. I do kind of feel bad sometimes running over entire teams.... mostly I lol though.

Having opponent team made of majority of 29, 39 or 49 just blow up any will to play against such players.
You gave peeps the possibility to twink and fight, so they do ....
Someone wrote in here a while ago, that PvP players in MMO don't look for challenge, but to crush their opponents as easily as possible.
So true .... but imho it's such a waste, cause I loved how it was before bocked xp.
You know what I see a lot of in lvl 39 WF? Players standing there and taking fireballs to the face without los-ing or countering with some kind of stun/mez. Are these the people that are crying so hard about twinks?
I think if anyone who wants to enjoy pvp after level 50, twinks are a great way of priming people for it. If you want to go beyond 1 button mashing, learn your class and situational awareness and twinks won't be an issue.
Yea remove the XP lock thing so we can get the twinks away from the game..
Well I am what you might consider a twink in the 30-39 bracket, a Marksman Rogue to be exact, there i've said it! But to all you out there who consider this an extreme violation to your PvP experience consider this....
What do you expect when you enter at the lower level end of a warfront....before the xp lock a level 30 would be decimated by any decent level 39 make no mistake. The xp lock has simply allowed certain players to maximise the potential of their characters.
Here's a newsflash to all you tourists to the lower level brackets....when you hit 50 you will be decimated!! Yes you will...seriously..no kidding...really!!
Initially and it will take a damn sight longer to reach parity unless your daily playtime comes at the risk of your health.
If you truly believe that platinum is the issue and that you need 3 level 50's to compete and feed your lower level character... then you are very sad indeed...here's why:-
Although I have blue and purple augments and runes added to my crafted armour I can tell you this...any green/blue augment can and will compete with a purple one for any semi decent player.
Green and blue augments are achievable for anyone, they don't cost much in the way of plat (either augment or rune).
Don't feel you should need to apply any of these to your gear...fine..read on.
If you are playing in my bracket then by this level through either warfront or PvE levelling you should have some of the below:-
With any combination of the above you can make a difference!
I have been tormented by many 'untwinked' players because they know what they are doing! Don't underestimate skill and don't come crying to me because you feel you are owed a few kills.
I have read the threads on ban twinks, get rid of locked xp etc etc but I can truly say that you are smoking some sort of wildflower if you think I am fooled by your whining.
There is simply no excuse... none.. not one for you to come on to these forums and complain.
This isn't WoW, there is nothing stopping you competing, or even matching your so called nemesis (the uber level 39's) with a bit of thought and attempt.
I am level 39 and there are many players that give me problems, and before you throw your toys out of yer prams, no they are not all level 39's!!!! or twinked.
Some of them know how to play against certain classes and...dare I say it use the tools available to them!
Leveling to 50 through PVP used to be fun, now it isn't. Simple as that really.
"If the young are not initiated into the Village, they will burn it down just to feel it's warmth"
But GW2? GW was awesome, and from what I've read/seen/heard, they're building GW2 on the same foundation of what made GW such a success, only making things that people DIDN'T like about GW1, BETTER.
I'm not into the hype-train when it comes to new MMOs, I've never said "this game will be a X Killer" when a new game launches or is on the verge of launching, BUT, GW2 will hurt subs in various MMOs. It has that much potential. If GW1 came out today, but updated, it would leech subs from other MMOs, which is essentially what Guild Wars 2 will do for anyone wanting PvP, because at least ArenaNet knows how to do PvP.
Balanced PvP. It doesn't exist in an MMO, it never will, but trying to FUBAR the balance is completely asinine, and it really shows the maturity level of the people who twink and decimate the other side. They're not in it to have a balanced match, they never will be. These are the same people who level every class to 50, and only play the class/spec that's OP for that month. Once it gets nerfed, they go to the next OP class. These people will always exist, they will always hurt MMORPGs.
