Default Whats the best resist to have for pvp?

Please don't say Valor, I am talking about what resist in your sigil would be best, Fire, Death, Purity, Life etc..

I would think fire (Warriors & Rogues), but maybe Death for all the dots....hmm then there are those pesky Stormcallers and Doms.....would probably go with fire.

Don't bother. 50 focus/hit will destroy your resist.

The Valor essences really are the best for pvp.

Other than those, death resist is probably the most useful, followed by fire.

Warlocks, Necromancers, Nightblades, Cabalists, and Inquisitors are all fairly common and all do various amounts of death dmg.

Pyros, Nightblades, Riftblades all do fire dmg.

Don't worry about resist, worry more about having some focus/hit.
Other than that, the most valuable stat to have in PvP is Valor.

Focus negates any mitigation you receive from resists? I can see it negating actual resisting a spell, but the mitigation as well? If so makes no sense.

With every other mage being a chlorolock I would say life/death.

The mitigation is paltry for resists. Getting Valor essesnces work on all damage and is a much better solution.

I know the OP said don't say Valor, but Valor is the answer.

If you choose non-PVP essences in your sigil you are trading a lot of universal mitigation for a little specialized mitigation.

Valor protects against physical and ALL non-physical. You want to trade that for protection against a single type of non-physical?

    1.) valor
    2.) hitpoints

    resists are basically pointless.
