Default Bonus warfront weekends. Who knew Trion could fix so many problems at once.

I'm personally loving the bonus warfront. If participation is any indication, it seems to be a hit with everyone. I'm in a mostly pve guild on a pve server and the bonus favor really got some new names into the warfronts to try out pvp.

With this one simple addition they fixed:
-The extreme grind being within reach of the casual player or weekend warrior. Definitely motivated a lot more people to try Rift pvp.

-Whitefall Steppes is no longer a boring turtle fest. Most people seemed to hate the map. You would see in chat "whitefall is the daily again?!?" Now its just plain fun.

-Far less "premade" vs pug issues. With massive numbers of people queueing there are more real groups to be matched and "1,2,3, queue" doesn't work well at all anymore. This is one of the main reasons it was such a hit with the masses and the few are complaining. The premades pretty much lost their advantage.

-Queue times are nearly instant all day for Whitefall. Longer for the other maps but honestly why play them when there is a bonus event for another going on? That's like complaining you want a fire rift and you miss them in the middle of the HK event dropping items from water rifts.. makes no sense, just complaining..

Really thumbs up to you on this one Trion. I won't even complain about cabalist as long as you keep the bonus WF weekends coming.

They do not have to lose as many matches now while being farmed. Um, yay?

True, the premades have no issues farming PUGs with this beauty. Um, yay?

Join All will usually pop something other than E:WS. Folks know what a farm fest it is and would prefer to have the chance to play. Only those that queue and watch TV straight up queue for it.

As an aside, two funny things did happen as the weekend came to a close:

In an E:WS, a person that had not played in a couple of months and did not read the patch notes was complaining that the WF was broken when he could not find the stone in the enemy base...lol.

In a regular WS (after the weekend was done), there were people that had never played the normal WS complaining about the WF being broken because no stones were spawning at mid...lol.

Did you miss the favor nerf after bonus weekends? How fast is that casual non-geared player going to get to rank 8 when he's only making 400-500 favor per loss, 1000-1200 if his team manages to win.

-Whitefall Steppes is no longer a boring turtle fest. Most people seemed to hate the map. You would see in chat "whitefall is the daily again?!?" Now its just plain fun.
Yes, now we have a mad rush to middle while one side retreats as they're demolished by a team they were poorly matched against with rank 6-8 gear before they're pushed back to their spawn, or the enemy teams rogues go bouncing and teleporting across the map grabbing the stones and winning within a few minutes since you can't ever catch them.

Perhaps true in your WF Group, not on ours. Pre-mades from Dayblind, or our server are fully geared from the first pvp weekend or exploiting pvp rifts, no PUG with rank 1-3 can compete with the level of gear they have on the weekend games, they just get melted.
