Default PVP Rift Contribution - Escorts need recognition

So tried a few pvp rifts over the weekend - and my biggest concern is this:
If no one shows up for the fight (or only one or two)... you can have a group of people fail to get credit depending on how many people are hogging stones. And it basically turns the 'pvp' into who can click a stone quickest in your faction.

So here's my suggestion: People within 10m of a stone runner gain contribution over time while they're near them. Also, if you're standing near one of the drop off points when stones are returned you also gain contribution to the rift for that. This way you can have people who are running escort duty for stones, as well as defending drop off points - and can focus on only having a few runners.

The only other item that would need to be addressed is a way for people to gain contribution while standing inside the rift with no one to kill - perhaps just something that interacts with the generators so people need to be active inside and not just afk for the faction/favour.

the pvp dailies and pvp rifts are all about fighting your own faction for collection and gathering objectives

...not about fighting opposing faction. its a "next gen" kind of pvp

Well about half of them it's more beneficial to group up as a zerg for credit than to work against each other (all the kill count and loot off body ones).

One thought I just had to try to give people something to do other than click stones - periodically spawn waves of opposite faction npcs that will attack the rift. Possibly of equivalent strength to Port Scion npcs. It's less than ideal - but it's better than just hoping you might get to run one stone in the 10 minutes it takes to close a rift.
