    Considering everyone who's interested in pvp will be stuck in the battlegrounds grinding out ranks 7 and 8 (800-900k prestige) I don't think they're going to work at all

    Ok, ok, imagine this: instead of a lure for a specific profession to open a Rift, you get one for a specific opposing faction GUILD.

    Opening the Rift draws them all through it whether they want it or not!

    Amazing...

    Man it's going to cause pvp cause it has pvp in the name!



    But no I think the idea is, the pvp daily quests worked pretty well. The reason why is it had good rewards, and sent everyone to a place in the world to get it. So, same concept. You see on the map someone is running a pvp rift and you get your guild into the action. You open those rifts to begin with for the rewards.

    The only detail I can think of that might be amiss is that the daily pvp quests worked well because of escalation. Buddies would bring buddies then guilds and so on until you had a war. With a pvp rift, one side will already have the army assembled and the other will be unable to escalate up to that level unless it's a well organized guild with a llot of members online at the time.

    Just like a regular rift...perhaps automatically flags you...offers PvP rewards instead of PvE rewards.

    Can seen the PvE'er posts now "WTF? I was trying to close a rift and I got ganked!"

    There can be only 1 pvp rift per zone so presumably factions will try and close enemy pvp rifts so they can open their own. Favor and prestige gain is increased near the objectives (not sure how much) so hopefully they will be an effective way to progress from that standpoint.

    Basically at the rift there are 4 wardstones and a port scion type idol. The rift is closed if those are destroyed by the opposite faction or the rift times out. At the rift are spawned sourcestones that the openers must take to designated drop off spots away from the rift. The opening team has to have enough players to defend the rift as well as run stones and escort carriers to be successful.

    but they have shards in it, everything with collecting shards makes good pvp.... right...?

    players get randomly sucked up and spat out from cities and towns into a warzone of pvp madness in some random location somewhere in telara.!!! 20 players at a clip, every 5 minutes, from both sides, all levels...

    The whole concept of the pvp rifts kinda make me go 'meh.' Not interested in this, I'm afraid. *shrug* Sorry.

    basically what happens:

    guardians are grouped up ready for daily raid rift. you come along and pop a pvp rift with their tear and a fight breaks out

    or

    a full raid or 2 run around looking for pvp rifts that are open with only like 5-10 people at them that they can roll through without problems.

    It will be a normal rift just with Pvp in its name with pvp rewards. pvpanite!

    Gotta be sure there's enough of them online to make it worthwhile. I can see opening the rift; your guild is all ready to fight with a full raid group and you pull 3-4 guys in (two of which are leveling alts).

    Might be better to limit the pull to 50's only and then let the pull be in even increments of five until the numbers are relatively balanced. Just random pulls of any opposite faction 50 who happens to be online and NOT in a WF.
