Default Why do rogues have greater range then mages?

    Is this logical ?
Im sure if mages were real they could launch fireballs as far as a bow and arrow.
Mages and Rogues should have the same range.

It's like laser beams, they diffract over distance, becoming more spread out and less powerful. As a mages fireball shoots through the air, it's heat energy is dissipated into the atmosphere. At Telara ambient temperature, this is around 30 feet.

Arrows are aerodynamic and and so travel further.

You can't alter the laws of physics!

Lasers travel further then arrows lawl.

Guns shoot further then arrows. So by physics laws rogues with guns should shoot further then those with a bow.
Mages fireball is like a hugh cannonball covered in fire. They should be able to shoot as far as a cannon.

If we sticked to the laws of physics and general common sense, a direct hit from a huge freakin' battle axe, greatsword, an arrow or bullet in the head, a fireball, a lightning strike or a dagger in the back of your head should kill you on the spot. Therefore, all characters should have about 100 hitpoints and deal 30-40 damage on normal hits and 90-100 on criticals. Let's go play some Counter Strike

Forget physics then and lets look at the fun. Mages should be able to shoot as far as rogues. Why do rogues get the further range? They are faster at running and shooting. If anything mages should get the greater range.

Health and safety regs, can't escape them. You *really* think those weapons you're running around with are real? The press would have a field day!

Yea, and while we are at it, why dont we simply give both the same skills, same amount of hp and same armor ? no reason not to!

"Rogues" don't. Marksmen who spend 5 points to spec for it, have a 5 meter greater range. Working as intended.

Marksmen are made to be a long-range specific class, tailor-made for range. Mages are not built to act like that, they function differently. Why shouldn't MM have the edge doing what they're designed to be good at?

Its not logical that they have more range. Does not make sense at all.

Why make one ranged unit superior to the other?
