Default This is not rocket science.....

Currently rogue marksman class has more sustained and burst dps then melee classes in the game. It is extremely easy for a ranged class to focus fire because position and distance is not an issue to the target. When you see warriors trying to get to the backline and being focused fired for 1,000s of damage by multiple rogues the game starts to turn from stupid to a complete and utter joke. Then when said warriors do get into melee range they do less damage then the rogue. To make the whole situation even more absurd the ranged classes have as much CC and survivaiblty as melee warriors but can apply damage at 35m. How can any developer group think this is a good idea...... Yes, the do have more survivability. LOL.

What are we missing. The warfronts are once again becoming dominated by armies of rouges and it is stupid. Trion needs to balance pvp damage between melee and ranged dps. That is a rogue shotting at 35m should have the lowest damage in the game.

Will Trion do this... doubtful and the game will continue to suffer and go down the drain. Can anyone say Bright Wizard.

This is comical. Um. MM Rogues die in like 2.309738 seconds.

    What that should say is:
Clerics and Mages who can outheal 3 people beating on them should have the lowest damage in the game.

    ??????

A ranged dps rogue should have the lowest dps in the game? What the **** are you smoking? Pyros can one shot people but a Rogue should do less dps than a cleric. Right dude, smoke another one.

Exactly my thought lol. We have clerics on my cluster who lead the wf's in dps time and time again, yet a Rogue should not do as much lol. Rogues and Mages should do the most damage because THEY ARE THE SQUISHIEST! Not in this game though, hell I think Mages have more survivability than Rogues do.

Trion took logic and blew it the **** up.

They will re-nerf MM fairly soon, currently >50% of every warfront is MM, similar to 1.1 pyro. Clearly something is amiss when >50% of all players wish to be 1 soul, when there are 32 souls.

True as it may be that something is amiss, bandwagon effect an all aside, the bigger issue seems to be that regardless of which patch we refer to, out of the 32 souls, how many of them have ever actualy been a seriously viable soul to use in instanced pvp system we have with Rift?

    Cheers.

No, no, no... those Marksmen strafing in and out of LoS mashing their instants are clearly skilled.

    Yeah. That's it. Skilled.

Trion said the game was made with a focus on PvE instead of PvP, so obviously they didnt make 8 souls for each class that would be good in pvp.

You die to a MM who actually moves himself out of LOS? lol.
You guys are ****ing terrible, ranged rogues do piss all damage, and melee specs can burst far higher numbers in much shorter time.
    PS: I play melee

Actually no they can put up some impressive numbers, but yes melee warriors and rogues are much more lethal.

Try a Riftblade and throw a rift burst at a rogue. Throw spears at him while he kills himself. Rinse and repeat.

But, IMO, soldiers do need a LOT more health. Soldiers, by design, are supposed to be tanks. In PvP, they're the throw-away glass cannons. Mages absorb more damage and do more damage. Clerics are the tanks and the healers. Warriors... eh, they are actually more like rogues than rogues are.

Given their disability to being largely melee specced (unless you're a Riftblade), they're easily CC'd. They need more health to be viable.

    Example:
Solo mage on a WF gets singled out. He/she has a damage shield, maybe a teleport, transmogriphy skills, or some other means to CC the target in order to move to safety.
Cleric has godlike heals and damage shields to do the same.
Warriors... have a melee range only fear or a ranged/close range stun. Many warriors can be 2-3 shot killed by DPS clerics and mages before they ever get close enough to CC anyone.

Thought it does seem that way in practise to a degree, mind linking this post or statement from Trion where they said that Rift was a PvE game with a PvP afterthought?

    Cheers.
