I played on a pvp server - one of the most aggressive ones - and in a guild that had some very long standing feuds with other large pvp guilds leading to some nice open world grudge pvp. Saying that pvp wise WOW was not a patch on DAOC, and even WAR was a better pvp game.
We raided and we pvp'd - like most people you go for all the content in a game rather than just silly arena whackamole. we had guild members who ran teams and had high ratings, but mostly it was because the welfare epics handed out in arenas were easier to get then raid epics - now not all of them were any good for raiding but the weapons were usually a lot easier to get in arenas.
Just because you say everyone likes it doesn't make it so. Its a minority interest. Get that into your head. It was badly implemented in wow. Its not a high priority here.
Its just me but these games start to look more and more like their developers.
Im 80% sure they add Arena and RvR was nothing more than ******** to keep some players longer.

Same 5 people over and over and over and over and over.
At least this time you removed the part where you wanted extra special gear.
Lol @ that.

Open the door. Get on the floor.
Everybody walk the dinosaur.
I think arenas in rift would be cool as an off thing just for competitive people to do. Maybe something that offered a title and offered a small amount of favor & prestige for winning and scoring kills. Gear should still be obtained through prestige in RvR (I think you should have a daily prestige cap in warfronts) or Rated Warfronts.

Prank - Mage
Uck - Rogue

The true reason why the majority of players don't like arena is the xbox live/fps smack talking elitist attitudes that come with it.
I can't stand people that feel they need to insult and drag you down because they think they are better than you at a video game. Rude, arrogant players have destroyed arena.
If people treated everyone who participated in arena with respect even if they weren't good at it you would see a whole different attitude for it.
1 star says it all. I love how badly you got ***** in the other thread so you decided to make your own. Pathetic.

The very idea of "fair competition" between "similar teams" just isnt a reality in a game like WoW, and before you say Yes It Is, no...it isnt, thus the article saying why it was a mistake.
Warriors listen to this while they play PvP:
Each class has a ******ed amount of choices in rift, plus we can easily access FOUR specs which we can change before queuing when we have a good idea of which teams are also queuing up. With ENOUGH choices and tools, you can almost always come up with a strategy to defeat enemy teams, even if they counter you. That said, the balancing aspect shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as Trion don't make the same mistakes as blizzard (AKA strip classes of their utility and replace it with MOAR DAMAGE BECAUSE DEEPS FIXES EVERYTHANG)
People who don't like arena don't have to play it, arenas can offer the SAME level of gear rewards as warfronts do. Throw in some titles and end of season mounts to go with the titles, and MAYBE even some vanity armor if the artists are feeling up to it, put rating requirements on them but keep the same stats as the WF gear.
Basically all we want though is a ranked ladder / matchmaking system for at least 2v2 and 3v3
Whether they want to admit it or not, most people just hate arena because they suck @ PvP, but I'm sick of being forced to group with noobs for warfronts. Getting a large group online to do premades with is pretty difficult to time, plus thats not even really a competitive style of play. Its just the pros crushing the noobs.
