Default Aureus Knights - Family Friendly, Mature and Fun Focused Guild

The Aureus Knights (AKS) is a multi-game guild that has been in existence in various forms for over 10 years. We are very excited to announce that we are now recruiting for Rift on the Seastone server! Check out our site or do a "/who Aureus" and talk to one of our members for more details today!

    For our forums: http://www.aureusknights.com/forum.php

We are a mature (this does not mean 18+ it just means what it says - being mature) and family friendly guild who'd love to have you join us. We are a well established multi game guild who has operated in Final Fantasy XIV, Vanguard, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, Aion, and many more games.

Read up on what we have to offer below and if you are interested in finding out more visit our forums. Also feel free to ask any questions you might have in this thread - I'd be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

A little on who we are:
The Aureus Knights is a guild of friends that has existed in spirit since we started playing MMOs together in 1997 (Ultima Online being our first game). Together as a group of friends we would go from MMO to MMO and guild to guild playing the games we love and having a blast.

In 2006 we decided it was time that we take our experience in MMOs and in forming online communities and create our own guild; a formal place for us to game together where wed make sure the lessons wed learned over our years playing online games together were the basis of our new guild.

Aureus Knights is built on the principles of Respect, Honour, Loyalty and Friendship. Rule number one for The Knights is to treat people as youd want to be treated. We use a fairly flat system of leadership where we have officers who are responsible for the day to day running of the guild but in the end they are just members we are all equals here. This guild exists for its members and not for any other reason; we have no drama here, no power trips and none of that type of baggage that sometimes comes with guilds.

We are a family friendly guild that puts real life and family ahead of our games; We are a serious guild who loves to work end game progression but we will not do it at the cost of our membership's personal lives.

    What we offer our members

The AKS core group and officers are knowledgeable gamers who enjoy helping other players. So right off the bat you have a good core group of people to play with who want to make sure that all AKS members feel welcome and enjoy the games they play to the fullest extent. Other benefits provided by AKS:
    • A well-run guild with an experienced and dedicated officer team
    • Organized events on a weekly basis
    • A fun guild - everything we do is oriented around having fun
    • A drama free environment. We are structured from the ground up to be drama free
    • Forums and Ventrilo. Neither are mandatory but both are great for building great and lasting relationships
    • Social media tools. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Steam, and XFire
    • An awards system to reward our top contributing members
    • A casual chapter for non-MMO gaming. 'Cause sometimes it's nice to mix it up
    • ... and a whole lot more

In every beta that the Aureus Knights have had a presence in, we have done at least 1 guild event and 1 run of dungeons.

But, at the end of Open Beta we decided to go out in style with the pants-off-dance-off and cheer up the community on Wolfsbane.

Join us and you might get to take part in one:

Wanted to throw this in here. This is an after action report from our last event in beta:

With the end of Open Beta on the horizon Aureus Knights decided to do one last event to cap off what has been a great beta.

The plan was to start in Stonefield and move in to Scarlet Gorge. In Stonefield we wanted to get started with some PVE doing Rifts and Invasions and our hope was to end the night provoking some Guardian players in to fighting in the shared faction areas of Scarlet Gorge.

Naturally when we arrived in Granite Falls (our rally point in Stonefield) it was under attack (when is Granite Falls not under heavy assault, that is what I want to know?) so our peaceful rallying of the troops turned in to a frantic defense of the town's Wardstone.

We quickly managed to turn the invaders away and we started mopping up the Rifts that were spawning the Invasions, things were looking good. Suddenly the world boss for the event spawned and we had to hustle west to Camp Fergos which was heavily under assault by the boss and his minions. A bit of a slug fest but we managed to take down the boss.

We spent some time cleaning up Rifts and Invasions following the world event in Stonefield but it was clear that with over 20 people we could take on a lot tougher than Stonefield! So it was off to Scarlet Gorge!

In Scarlet Gorge many of us got our first taste of scripted Rifts. These Rifts work like dungeon encounters you've fought in various MMOs and it was really cool to have a Rift boss coming in and out of portals causing all kinds of madness.

We did 2-3 of these scripted Rifts and picked up some achievements. By this point we had inadvertently worked our way in to Guardian territory but no one was willing to engage our group. At one point things had become so passive between the factions we helped some Guardians recapture town from Invasion.

Enough of this - it was time to head towards Gloamwood and cause some serious trouble with our sworn enemies!

On the way to Gloamwood we stopped in the Guardian town of Crimson Wash to cause some trouble. We pushed heavy in to the town slaying guards and innocent NPCs alike. We were trying to provoke a response and we weren't going to settle for anything but a full on fight with the Guardians who refused to flag themselves. Eventually they had had enough and they flagged, that was their mistake. A battle raged with the few Guardians who were willing to dance and we quickly put them out of their misery without taking any losses.

After our battle Crimson Wash came under Invasion attack and we decided enough damage had been done.

So we had a taste of Guardian blood now - where would we take it next? Gloamwood you say? Don't mind if we do...

We pushed in to Gloamwood and met up with another Defiant Raid group who was obviously causing some trouble. The other group was coming up the highway towards Tearfall Run escorting a Defiant invasion so we happily joined in. The Defiant invasion with our heals quickly captured the Wardstone in Tearfall, another captured Guardian hub.

The Invasion decided it was going to target Glaomwood Pines next and we were happy to help it along. A bit of a fight ensued upon our arrival in Gloamwood Pines but we managed to lock the town down.

After securing Gloamwood Pines we headed down the road to lock down Silkweb Outpost. We had managed to lock the entire zone of Gloamwood up in an hour, not bad for a night's work.

At this point many of our group were flagging and we were down to around 10 people in our raid group. What else would you want to do with 10 people but to attack the major city of your enemy? That's right. We were off to Sanctum.

You can't enter Sanctum (they have crazy guards that kill even a full group of level 50s) but you can lock down the camp in front of it. So that is what we did. We spent a good 20-30 minutes harassing their vendors and NPCs as well as any Guardians who were brave enough to fight us.

The Guardians at first would come at us one at a time, then 2-3, then 5 at a time and on and on. We continued to turn away attempt after attempt to boot us out. After over 30 minutes of having one of the Guardian's most important Points of Interest locked down they had had enough and a wave of over 100 Guardians rushed us from the Sanctum Bridge. We fought bravely, but we didn't last long.

It was a beta event that summed up our experiences in beta brilliantly. Enjoyable PvE and PvP of a few different forms and everyone had a lot of fun.

We finished up the night with a pants-off-dance-off in Meridian!

Thank you to everyone who came out, I hope in release we can continue to have fun events like this!
