First and foremost let me introduce you to our humble community. Within the ranks of Gaiscioch you will find many event leaders who provide us with daily adventures and events. Gaiscioch traditionally plays host to some of the world's largest public community events. We're looking to grow our forces to relaunch the Telara Saga for Season 3 in February of 2017.
Through our experience we have come to know and love the various types of content in RIFT including Raiding, Dungeons, Zone Clears, and even some PvP. We take an open and friendly approach toward gaming. As a Gaiscioch you can began gaining ranks, earning vault credits, and gain accolades. All of these transfer over with you for the life of your Gaiscioch membership regardless of the games we play.
All members are welcome to be a part of any community, and are encouraged to pursue that which interests them. A smile on your face is more important than a tag above your head.
About The Gaiscioch Family
The Gaiscíoch (pronounced Gosh-Kia) Social Gaming & Athletics Community began on November 11th 2001 in the industry pioneering MMORPG "Dark Age of Camelot". They began on the Nimue roleplaying server as an inclusive community focused on creating a fun and enjoyable environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
The Gaiscíoch takes it's name from an Irish legend found within the "Lebor Gabála Érenn" and "Cath Maige Tuired" which chronicle the first people of Ireland, the Tuatha de Danann. Specifically the First Battle of Moyturna where the Tuatha de Danann hand picked the most honorable and loyal warriors to fight alongside the Celtic Gods in a battle against the Fir Bolg. These warriors were known as the Gaiscíoch.
With their roots firmly attached in the Celtic Mythological Cycle, the Gaiscíoch hold honor, respect, integrity, and fellowship, over hierarchy and dictatorship. Today the Gaiscíoch span many games, sports, and social circles.
The Gaiscioch are a global casual social gaming community with a relaxed approach toward gaming. They allow their members to play how they want, when they want, as long as they want and do not constrict them with quotas or requirements.
The overall focus of the Gaiscioch is to support the server communities and real world communities they are part of. They accomplish this by hosting public community events, participating and hosting community forums, interacting with game developers, and providing new players information through our in-game advisers and out-of-game guides, maps, and videos.
With a strong focus on community our endgame goal is to create memories, friendships, and participate in the overall success of the community. It is through gaming, athletic competition, and social interaction that we forge new friendships and relationships.
Region: Global / English - We have a global audience however we are exclusively English speaking.
Motto: "Play how you want, When you want, As long as you want!"
Average Age: 36
Wisest Member: 92
Bottomline: We are real people with real lives who have bonded together through gaming. We have shared in victories, seen careers launch, seen couples be wed, babies be born, sent soldiers to war, remembered our fallen members, have fought and defeated cancer together, and continue to be the rock we all lean upon when life calls. We celebrate life together both in game and out.
Gaiscioch enjoys a wide array of activities from PvE to PvP. We were well known early on as being the Guardians who kept trying to assassinate Asha Catari in Meridian and eventually accomplished it. We hold World First kills for Sylver Valis, Orphiel Farwind, Asha Catari (x2 Shimmersand and Meridian), Dacia Ultan, and Ronan Ismos. On the raiding front we were first on the server to slay Greenscale and have recently began raiding again after a 4 year break. Here's where we stand currently: http://www.topofrift.com/guild/gaiscioch-_-faeblight however we raid a bit differently than most.
We keep it light hearted and fun and have a 5 wipe rule where if we wipe 5 times we move to another raid where we can blow through the content. This keeps frustrations to a minimum and keeps people from getting snippy with one another. In the end we are entertainers and want to encourage a fun and friendly environment for all.
I encourage you all to join us for one of our community events.
The Telara Saga 3 is set to launch in February 2017 and will run for 10 weeks giving out prizes and loot to all.
Membership is never required to participate in any Gaiscioch event.

^THIS, in a nutshell, is why I've been in Gaiscioch for 5.5 years now. I joined in Warhammer after one of those big community events, then moved with the guild to Rift, then Guild Wars 2, then a few other social adventures, and now back to Rift. It's really great to be able to play with my guildies in a variety of games. And awesome to be able to do the stuff together, even stuff I could solo, because I'm hanging with my friends while we do it.
And no pressure. No one forces me to show up for anything, and folks are friendly and happy whether I do or not. It's great.
I've recently joined RIFT, and I'm loving the game - it seems like it has elements for everyone (and if I'd known it had such awesome player housing I would have joined years ago; I could kick myself).
The transition to RIFT was smooth for me, as I've been with Gaiscioch in other games for 3.5 years now, and regardless of the game, the guild immediately feels like home. It's one of those magical unicorn metaguilds - big enough that you'll never feel abandoned, but friendly and personal enough that you'll never feel lost in the size. As I play in the oceanic timezone, 19 hours ahead of the server, this guild gives me the chance to join a big international guild and make friends across all timezones, since for me, being restricted to a server or guild based on my country is *not* why I play MMO's.
I joined Gaiscioch almost 5 years ago when their main chapter was Rift, and coming back feel like home.
I debated opening with that statement, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how true it is. Gaiscioch community events won me over years ago, and the activeness and diversity kept me with them. I don't get a whole lot of time to play, so being able to join an event regardless of progression or experience is perfect. It's also nice to be able to jump into other games and see familiar names welcoming you.
I originally started Rift when it first came out, played solo for a long time then I joined Gaiscioch
as Olestre and it was great, made friends and really enjoyed the game. For a while I lost my mind and went to WoW hehe then went to GW2 and then back to Rift, I still play alll 3 games but Rift is my primary game but with GSCH being in GW2 also is all one big family.
I've been with Gaiscioch for seven years, starting with Warhammer where I was not a direct member, but part of the family through the Tuatha, which was an alliance beyond what the game could even handle. I helped lead warbands into battle there. Life got me separated for a bit, but when I figured out they had moved to Rift and I was already in that game, I hopped servers and have played with them all over the place since. Why? Because they believe in community and inclusiveness.
We are even planning on resuming some of the great fun we did in the beginning days of this game with way more content to do it in now. Keep your eyes out for that because anyone can come to the fun, not just the guild.
If you need a home, like fun, and like not being pressured in how you play, definitely look us up. We'd love to help you find more fun in the game and have crazy tales to tell of the people you get to meet. I don't get to play games like I used to, but look forward to meeting you whether you join our guild or just come to have fun in our events.
I've been carrying Gaiscioch in my heart for almost 8 years now. (My 8th anniversary will occur in February.) I've watched the membership grow steadily over the years, with friends coming and going, but one thing has remained constant; the idea of Family.
I guess some folks call us a "Guild," but years of perspective make Gaiscioch seem like much more than just a gaming guild or club. These are the people I want to speak with every day, even if just to wave and say "Hi!" These are the people who are sharing their hobbies with us, sharing their hopes, ideas, and dreams. That's why we are Gaiscioch... because of the people... Because of the Family.
We love Rift, because of the opportunity to play in many different ways, across many different landscapes, and be with our friends. We play many other games, but Rift seems to fit right in our "sweet spot" of casual, team-oriented, coordinated FUN! We've got some great leaders, and they really care about our Family. We hope to see you soon in Telara!
