Hey guys..I too am an Estrael vagabond...I raided with many of you there as Vecna, and here on Fae as Dagon. I am a mage..

My work schedule has changed recently, and I find myself looking for a guild that runs pretty much the same time y'all do...so, that being said, I am very interested in joining.

A little about my experiences here...I have completed 5/11 in HK, and have seen 7.(many attampts on Grug and Molly with no success) I have downed 2/4 in RotP. Pretty darn comfortable with everything else...don't really need any loot other than HK/RotP gear and greater mark stuff...I run HK's with the HK Pug group now ( they are great) but really look forward to learning ID with a guild. I am currently in Misery Inc., but it is not working for me based on schedules.

I really want to finish out HK, and gear toward running ID when it comes out.

Yeup, Dark Paradigm continues to look for more recruits. As a reminder to all who read this thread, we may say a lot of words about raiders, but all casual players that have a good personality ; ) are welcome to join us as well.

As for raiders....

We find ourselves in a simple catch. Our Warriors, Clerics and Mages have 5 or 6 core raiders each with no or 1 sub. We have good candidates walk away for fear of not ever getting a core slot and being a 'sub' who never gets to raid. This is making it a bit more difficult as more guilds get 10/11 to keep a healthy sub base (as most of our subs get moved into core raider slots to replace those who rotate out).

We would like our Raider Core and the Raider Subs to come to 8 for each archetype. As a 'casual progression raiding guild' we do have some turnover in our core ranks (people take vacations, work schedules change, the wife gets mad, ect). As a guild we value real life more than the game.

By having a total of 8, we can have an acceptable level of progression while not requiring 100% attendance from all our raiders. I would also not look at that and say, they have 8 and I'll never get room. As a casual progression raid force, we have less turnover than a casual guild will (progression raiders like raiding, a lot), but more than a hardcore progression guild (who make it almost a job).

I've had a few people come talk to me about joining that get turned off by the 'we don't recruit to the core' philosophy. I would like to expand on that a little.

For a player that has HK experience similar to ours, assuming you are a good fit personality wise and the core needs a member (such as our current rogue situation), we are on a case by case basis treating you as a 'perspective raider'. Simply a sub that we attempt to get into more raids with the core and possibly more progression raids as well; while we evaluate if you'll be a good long term fit for the core.

For applicants that want to raid HK with us, and either have less experience or maybe the core is not in dire need for more members (such as the Mages), we look at bringing you in as a recruit and at a nice steady pace moving you up to raider sub position. As a new recruit who wants to raid, assuming you have the needed gear and schedule to make our raid nights, we will attempt to get you in on the raids as if you were already a sub.

For our subs, we are starting to treat our 1st HK night as a 'farm night' where we strongly encourage the raid force to bring a few subs/alts along so that a) the core raiders can get a bit of a break to be fresh on our progression nights b) our subs get to see HK and get marks/gear so that if we need them on progression night they can at least attend.

For this reason, I would strongly recommend those ready to enter HK or maybe already have seen it to get into contact with one of our council and join as a sub. Eventually, a sub that is always on and available, has a good attitude, is able to handle the mechanics, is going to join the core. There is always a rotation of members out of the core and we always look at our established subs to replace them.

Long winded post, but some of the theory behind the numbers does not really need to clutter the first post.

Warriors: 5 Core, 1 Sub (Want to recruit 1 Core and 1 Sub)
Rogues: 3 Core, 1 Sub (Want to recruit 3 Core and 1 Sub)
Clerics: 6 Core, 0 Sub (Want to recruit 2 Subs)
Mages: 6 Core, 0 Sub (Want to recruit 2 Subs)

Updated again, this time in layout a bit. We are very excited about the launch of the LFGuild tool. Being a 10/11 HK guild seems to have slowed the number of casual players interested in joining us.

We are ALWAYS very interested in recruiting casual players who do not raid or raid on occasion. Having a strong 'alliance' between a Progression Raiding Core and a Casual Base brings a lot of value to both types of players.
- Raiders love logging on and being able to kick back with people outside of the raid, do events, dungeon runs, craft and have conversations.
- Casual members love having a guild with knowledgeable players who can help them wherever it is needed. As a casual, you may not have time to read the forums, keep up on class changes, research those epic quest lines. Being in a guild with Progression Raiders gives you that great resource from friends and family.
- There is something to be said about logging on to finish your quest, coming to the end and finding out there are 2-3 elites you have to kill, and rather than spam 50's chat for help you drop a guild flag and summon a fully HK geared Cleric.
