[GUARDIAN HVY RP] Petals of Mariel-Taun

The Petals of Mariel-Taun is a heavy RP outfit that have newly transferred to this server from Harrow. RP is our first, second, and third focus. We also do regular T2 raids and are gearing up to hopefully begin raiding sometime in the future. We came from a small pop server where getting groups was a real chore.

As a guild, we're mature, laid-back and friendly. We're mostly comprised of older gamers and are seeking like-minded people for membership. Much of our lore belongs in-game and if you'd like to know more about the guild's current RP happenings, you'll have to find out IC

Our core group of players are top-end PvP and PvE L50s but we recognize that RP knows no level. We need more raiders and PvE players as well as PvP WF members for our regular premades. Still, although we need many types of players with varied interests to grow as a guild, we only accept roleplayers.

We don't judge. We don't mind if you're a light RPer, a heavy RP veteran, or a novice trying to learn the ropes. We're happy to help you grow your persona into something you like.... not something we force on you. This guild is a haven for creative people with a desire to have an outlet for their creations.

Our guild is roleplayed as the 13th Sanctuary Guard Legion (currently no in-game lore exists about a 13th Legion, so... we adopted the designation). We are RP'd as a very unique legion in that our soldiers are not commanded by a marshal, rather, the legion is lead by a special detachment of devout followers of Mariel-Taun. Our Abbotts, Abbesses, and the rest of the priesthood caste travels with and commands the legion. This is done because we are officially a diplomatic envoy. Our priesthood serve as mediators, ambassadors and diplomats while the soldiers of the legion officially safeguard their travel in hostile territory. In addition to these two groups, like with any legion in RL history, we also have plenty of loosely affiliated characters who RP "rear area" type personas... like bards, craftsmen, tradesmen, bankers, historians, etc.

In general, our guild is divided between two major groups: Legionaries and the Priesthood. Any RPer who joins can choose to belong to either group. Legionaries are the largest group and there are very few IC restrictions placed upon them. One needs not be a devout follower of the Vigil to be a legionary. Players who choose to RP as a member of the priesthood have different expectations. For example, IC reasons dictate that we can't very well allow a priest to blaspheme Mariel-Taun's name all over the place publicly. While a legionary who may do that might find him or herself knee-deep in trouble with one of the priesthood... a priest who does such things might find himself unemployed.

In addition to these two ranks, we have "prestige" ranks so to speak. We don't play favorites here and our officer ranks are not given out to best friends. Those who wish to become a Knight of the Legion can undertake a truly unique intra-guild epic quest to be eventually promoted to a leadership position within the legionary ranks. Priests can follow a path of their own. Although it isn't achievement based like the knighthood quest, it is a mentally challenging RP-heavy questline that ultimately can result in several paths towards different roles within the arcane priesthood.

Still, not to be outdone... we have other -hidden- ways for characters to progress that don't include the above at all. The Petals of Mariel-Taun is simply RP'd as a living, functional organization. We don't put artificial limits on who your character is... and, within sensible reason, most players are welcome at least as legionaries. Exceptions would be characters RP'd as overt violent criminals and others that may not have a reasonable place within the game's lore.

We don't have a level requirement. Yes, our core group is mainly comprised of L50s. However, we accept RPers of all level ranges.

So it finally happened, The petals have left Harrow. It is a dark day indeed on harrow after losing the 10 guard and now The Petals i fear for the fate of the server. I hope Faeblight comes top appreciate you as much as so many on harrow undoubtedly did. Well may the vigil bless and protect your every step in all that you do.

Thanks for the kind words. But yes, when we left we were the only L50 Guardians we saw on the server. I like my guildmates and all... but 5 L50s is not exactly a healthy enough population to keep the MM in the MMO. On the plus side, RP here is off the chain

We don't take a normal 'application' process, instead we have an interview ICly. This is both an oppurtunity for you to get to know the guild a bit more and decide for yourself whether or not it's what you and your character are after. It's also a good chance for us to get to know you better as well... something that applications rarely do a great job of conveying.

When we -did- have a website, in a guild of about 50 people during our AoC days, we got about 2 hits a WEEK. We do however have Ventrilo for happy hour chats, raids/dungeon/pvp groups and our semi world-famous OOC guild chat channel.

Like I tell people on the forums here and OOCly in game all the time, you're welcome to do as Anna said... drop by, check it out... meet the folks and stay for dinner. This isn't the Hotel California... but you don't have to leave if you don't want to.
