    Default Official Day 1 Fortress Siege/Raid Feedback Thread

    UPDATES:
    HOTFIX to NA at 1PM PST, EU at 6PM PST.

    Dev is going to spawn the vendor and quest giver (for Queen's Foci) in Camp Quagmire. This will be done first on the NA servers, and then after the hotfix on the EU servers as well.

    Quest Giver: Daily/Weekly for Queen's Foci
    Vendor: Seals, Upgrade Components, Minions, Drinks

    Hey folks!

    As many of you know, Fortress Siege went live today - unfortunately, so did an unanticipated bug, which Dev feels may be related to the large numbers of people on the siege - far beyond the numbers we were able to test on PTS.

    Yep, it's broken.
    Dev is watching the current assault to get a handle on exactly what's happening and how to approach it. Thank you for running it through its paces!

    Please post feedback on today's efforts to this thread, so that it's all in one place.

    Well theres lag.........

    Or theres a new 10s gcd to help improve the playstyle of really slow players.

    Also, mobs now have invisibility.

    Bug report: The raid boss didn't do anything, and then you kicked us out of the instance when he was at 19%

    EDIT: Also, for the brief time the boss instance was accessible through the portal, LFR was not available.

    Release better content next game, please.

    So since the lag and failure of the event was a bug, can we have the end instance enabled so we can go in the instance before next weeks hotfix?

    Or just buy better hamsters.

    ...or at least allow enter back temporary, so we can pass to next stages and keep those lags for you

    oh wait,,,that was ur asdkljsakldj "server balance" - most ppl stack on brut, while event on Typh.

    Impressions: First Fortress Siege on EU

    everything is fine except for Phase 3 (save the anchor to make the cannon break the walls to get to the final boss). There are so many mobs spawning at once, that many people face crashes. Even if you don't crash, you cant do anything (or it takes like 10 seconds for the thing actually happening).

    Second problem is, due to the large amount of mobs focusing their damage at the anchor (you need for being able get to the last boss), it gets killed in seconds.
    1) you can't really heal it because you lag and because it only allows healing through "infusion" which heals it by like 30k per second. -> no way to keep it alive long enough to charge the cannon. so you have to rebuild everything every 30 seconds.

    maybe change that phase so less mobs spawn, and increase the HP of the Anchor and Cannons and stuff. You need to allow direct healing by players aswell or increase the amount of healing done by "infusing" it.

    Oh good gravy - this is hilarious and tragic at the same time, and NOT something we could test for on PTS. Thank you for your patience as we sort this out.

    FORTRESS SIEGE IS BEING TAKEN OFFLINE.
    It is the team's #1 priority to fix right now and I will post the very instant we have an ETA.

    Here's the problem based on initial assessment, in three part harmony:

    1. Once the walls are taken down, the bosses that spawn have hitpoints that are calculated based on the number of players involved, to ensure a fair challenge. The problem is that we had SO many people at once (again, way, way more than we've ever had on PTS for testing) that the mobs ramped right up to the maximum HP value (over 2 beeeeelion, according to Vladd), and looped back around to 1. Yes, that's right, 1 HP.

    2. So now the Siege is broken as players ROFLstomp through the bosses, and after it is conquered because the bosses are made out of tissue paper, the LFR 10-man raid sliver does not open. No problem, right? At least the portal spawns and people can get in that way... EXCEPT....

    3. The raid boss, likely royally peeved that the Siege is broken, just stands there and refuses to fight back. That's right, he's on strike.

    So there it is. Fortress Siege is undergoing surgery right now, by every single dev who can help out - we'll keep you updated!

    Please start working on memes now, the thread is wide open and ready for it.*

    Heya, just to be clear, this is an unforseen issue within the encounter code, not the servers themselves.
    That said, any time we have new content and MASSIVE numbers of people in one zone, it gets laggy. Devs are discussing that as well.

    No brasse, every time there is something new brought into the game, you bring it offline cause its broken
    Guess this time the impact is gonna be felt cause you fail to deliver new content, when it was really needed

    The hp issue is server code, yes. Is me having to wait 10-20 seconds for my teleport forward in riftstalker to fire off a fault of server code about mob hp as well? Doubt it. Fps problems with lots of people - yes. Ability lag - again doubtful...
