    Default tar zilas not working?

as a inquisitor I find it convenient to use tar macro on boss for double dotting, but I've tried these:

    1. tar soulrender
    2. tar zilas
    3. tar soulrender zilas

and I've only had it work on very few pulls. most pulls when I use it, it doesnt report no such target, but just doesnt put zilas as my target.

my tar macro on adds have no problem at all
does anyone else have this problem?

Mark Zilas with a number and just use a tar macro for that.

Or you can focus target Zilas (default keybind Shift+F) and use "tar @focus" macro.

It's not aquestion of how to do it. I'm also wondering why you cant just tar Zilas. It's probably not intended so...

It's something that should be fixed. But knowing Trion it will take as long as fixing the combat bug after Izkinra... (Hint: still not fixed)

work your way through the available target numbers and pick something that's not used by anyone else when they mark targets, then macro that in.
Personally, I mark zilas with /mark 25 (the radioactive icon) and when I need to switch back, just use a macro with
    /tar @mark 25

Edit: I'm really not sure why this problem exists in the first place, or why it hasn't been fixed yet

In addition to this, is there a reason "tar butcher" always targets the newly spawned one across the room rather than either of the two 2m away from me?

Hint: In Unhallowed Boneforge, the final boss is the necrotic throne, where you have to attack the 2 arms.
If you marked the arms with 1 and 2, before the start of the encounter, your dots could never show on number 2. When people died and run back into the dungeon, they also ended in separate instances sometimes, lol.

Same thing happens In the Shadow from Beyond chronicle, after you kill the second boss, you have to manually retarget the oculon every time before you use that shard.

I think tar Zi is working there seems to be an issue with the "L" in his name

Speaking of targeting and macros, back in RoS I used to mark all the adds that popped out of the Foul Icon.

I used a macro that looked like this if I recall correctly:

    Code:
    targetexact Ancient Defiler
    mark 1
    targetexact Ancient Defiler
    mark 2
    target Ancient Cutthroat
    mark 3
    target Ancient Executioner
    mark 4
My question is this: is there any method currently for marking 2 adds with the same name? I'm trying to mark the two Wrathful Flesh adds that pop sub 30% -- either I'm not remembering my old macro correctly or something was changed along the way.

    Cheers.

TARGETEXACT still works. I just used it on Akylios to get the correct add that I needed to pick up.

If you are trying to mark two mobs that spawn at the same time, try putting "targetexact NAME" as the 2nd line. I believe that's how my macro back in ROS worked.
