Default Fang of the Soulstealer = zero effects?

Just saw this the other day and it looked like a toothpick with no effects. Shouldn't Relics be special and have a "cool" particle effect? I remember seeing older Relics like Anger or Fang of Akylios having some neat particle effects.

Can anyone confirmed this? Or is my graphics turned down or something?

They removed most of the weapon effects for a while now, I think it was just before ID, now, you won't see much differences between a relic and an epic weapon.

What a shame. I do remember Anger having a nice flame effect.

Are all the new SL Relics have no effects now?

I know of two weapons that have effects, but I do agree that it is very lame for relics to not have cool glowy effects like items from ID. Rusila's Bow of Iron Wrath ftw! I know the mage blade that drops off Zaviel has Ice emanating off of it, Same with a Rogue blade that is dropped off of Twins i think, I'd have to double check the names.

Yea this basically happened during ID. Its disappointing but you basically dont see much in the way of differences between Epic and Relic weaponry in terms of looks. In fact.. the sad fact of the matter is that more often then not... the epic weapons look BETTER then the relic weapons or upgraded versions.

I do miss relic weapons being significant in appearance (such as pylon from GSB). Lack of movement or glow or other such visual effects have been very disappointing. Honestly not sure why they did it, but perhaps it was just a lack of time.

Howl of the Treacherous Wind doesn't, but the item it's upgraded from (Thunderclap) does.

So, some have effects and some don't?

    Makes no sense.

They should just re-do all SL Relics and give them unique effects.

I wish they'd at least have given them unique models so they're somewhat special. My Screaming Blade looks identical to the raid mat crafted tanking sword I've had forever now. True, Anger and Voice of the Shade from Maelforge were identical to a mage dagger, but at least they were unique to rogues. (also they were on fire)

Well, hopefully Trion will either fix this or implement a weapon appearance slot. Would love to see that happen since many of the old Relics have some really nice effects.

Screw fire effects. Everyone can have that.

The look is horrible. For a dagger, I agree it looks like a very long hypodermic needle. Dunno what Trion was thinking when making this "Dagger". No thought at all.
