Default Matriarch of Pestilence healing adds

Guild has been trying to kill this one but the boss healing mechanic has been bit of a problem.
Been through alot of movies of the kill and seen logs on the Hypatial log viewer site.
Yet the aha experience is still not been there yet, so anyone have some good insight do drop a line.

Its not as much the energy healing its more that even though the small adds gets lot of aoe and die quickly, its more they still heal for quiet alot.

thanks in advance for any input.

There should be 1-2 dedicated mage stunners for those adds. Only stuns do the job as those mob's autoattack makes Matriarch heal herself.
I personally play as 51 archon/25 Harbinger with 2 stuns picked - one from Blade Rush (gets up for every add) and Disabling Shock (every 2nd add).
You can add mage like 61 Harbinger for this duty and make them rotate stuns for a complete stun locking those adds.
However currently we do not use 2nd mage and I alone do the job which is enough.

We use 3 tacts I think it is with a champ and just ignore stuns and muscle through the healing with the rest of the dps focusing matriarch down, we found it to go faster than trying to stun.

It depends on how good your stunners are we use 2 pyroharbs and had less than 17k hps this week.
    Nope.

Or you can just dps through it.

There is no reason to, with 1 stunner we get 5min kills, letting the fight drag on for another 1-2 mins is just another 1-2mins that people have to screw up. Bad spore drop.. missed interupts.. added dmg with more stacks etc..

what kind of healing numbers are we talking about here? 10k 30k?

We did not stun any adds at all this week (she ramped up something like 50k hps) and we just overloaded the fight with damage.

Stunning the adds can help, but I think making sure you nail the interrupts is more important.

We were at 24k incHPS with 1 stunner and rather sloppy add placement.

Loosing what a few k? personal DPS to cut down 25k incHPS seems well worth it to me.

We don't even bother with stunning the adds but we also normally have 4-5 tacts. All ppl really have to do is drag adds in front of the tact lane or go easy more and set up a K-alert for torment and move in from of the tact before they spawn. All the adds melt as long as they get placed right which means little healing for the boss.

Being 51 archon/25 harb stunner I lose a bit of my personal DPS to stuns but that is no more than 10%. I still do the archon job and pretty decent DPS for archon (mages know that /25 harb is a pretty DPSy one. So this is a pretty optimal solution.

So how much dps does one group have to have in order to do it your way?
Becouse stunning is very complicated :/
