Default Murdantix 1.8 Mangled debuff info

    Hello all!

Sorry to take up your time about old content, but my searching has turned up little information about the Murdantix fight as of 1.8. If someone could kindly inform me how the mangled debuff works (in particular, how much toughness/any-other-stat is reduced per stack), I'd be very grateful.

    Thanks!

I honestly don't recall, but I think it's 50 per debuff? Stacking every few seconds. Ergo a tank swap needed or really good dps.

I have seen it solo tanked using a WotM build in a voodoo video but they were ridiculously geared.

It did even furtehr trivialise the fight, however unless your tanks ID geared and your raid dps is ridiculously high, dual tank it and swap, new tank picking up when his stacks drop off.

I've solo tanked it on my cleric when it had bits and pieces of t1 raid gear still, with pug healers.

Its kind of more about other people not dying and getting the interrupts than the tank swap. They trivialized it when they remove the stacking armor debuff that went along with the toughness debuff.

Thanks for the replies so far. I knew about the tank swapping and the possibility of solo tanking it with under the right circumstances. Thank you for the info about the armor reduction nerf. I'd still like to know how much toughness is knocked off per stack. All I've been able to find on my own is the tanking guides on this site recommending 220 toughness for that fight, but that's it. I guess I just want to know the numbers for that debuff.

5 toughness per stack sticks out to me, that would make it so you could take 4 stacks (at 220 toughness) before you go below the toughness requirement for HK, that makes sense...atleast to me.

A lot of people have been solo tanking it for a long time.
But if Murdantix is going to be progression then definitely you should 2 tank it.

By the end of the fight Wotm tank (or any tank) should be getting close to zero toughness, not that it matters you should barley see your health bar move, even with just basic HK gear.

Thanks Bluelightt, that's exactly what I wanted to know! I know this fight/content is old hat to most of you, but a bunch of IRL friends just started playing Rift and I decided to get off of the WoW train and try this game out. We have the gear to do HK, but we're definitely not overgeared for it. There is one guildie in particular who believes more toughness is better (to the point of enchanting for it and getting the toughness lens) and used this fight as an example for why that's so. Hopefully with the info I garnered from here, I can convince him that if you have the toughness on your gear to take a couple/4 stacks of this debuff and do the tank swap, the toughness lens and enchant is a waste.

You should do the tank swap etc simply for the practice for later encounters. Once your team is functioning well you can look into short cuts like solo tanking etc.

It's 22 toughness per stack this is an easy soluion ask your tanks to look at your toughness when you get a debuff.. tanks can usually do 4 stacks then swap.. if your geared and good dps you can solo tank it.. hell don't even need to be geared.
