Its awesome to see people that really love their guild. Its sadly getting more and more rare in MMO's these days.At the end I peeled off and went to DPS maelforge completely ignoring what I was supposed to do. I figure I saved us a few seconds.
I also like how Ahovv conveniently says, " Eveeryyyyyythiiing".
Khan cool and collected just saying "keep going...clear". I really love this group of guys.
Great video needless to say. LOL at Natural Healing Spam.
I kinda hope Trion does go back in an retune the fight. I know it won't be fair to everyone else, but this fight feels like a shadow of what it could have been, If they make the fight what I think Trion intended it to be, it would be every bit as good as Laethys I think.
Maybe wait a few weeks for the other guilds that are close to clearing it to get it done, then retune him to what it should be and put it up on the next raid reset. For me (and as a non raider now, its more about the sense that Maelforge feels like he got the shaft. Laethys and Akylios and even LGS (in his day) were epic fights. Maelforge seems like his fight was overshadowed by bugs and broken mechanics. I doubt Trion wants the fight to be remembered for that.
Seeing videos like this makes me miss progression raiding. Maybe when Storm Legion comes out if I have a job that allows me to do so I'll get back into progression raiding. I did it back in TBC, but the time requirements were just to much for my work schedule.
BTW my video is now up, tank POV. Sorry it took so long to get uploaded, I've been busy lately.
What is the reason some people are "not acknowledging" this kill? I have watched both videos and I don't see anything that looks bugged or less than legit... what's that about?
Though as a fellow guild member said, this fight was kind of underwhelming. The only major addition was the adds in the first phase and they can be trivialized unless one is going for the achievement. The bugs were amusing at first and then became irritating (he can still bug out during phase transitions after wipes at certain points). The jump buff is really gimmicky and sometimes doesn't work properly or exactly as it feels it was intended to work, and that really ruins phase 1.
Laethys is, by far, a very tightly-tuned fight that really stands out as the hallmark fight of Infernal Dawn. It doesn't have any gimmicky jump buff, it fluidly integrates a number of challenging mechanics and it requires solid execution by all 20 members of the raid. It will continue to be where guilds get hung up -- like Akylios, it requires that balance of AoE and ST DPS/heals to push transitions in order to make enrage.
the damage in phase 3 for not killing cannons at the same time is an utter joke.
At first I thought Ituziel was the upper threshold of tank healing. Then phase 1 laethys and phase 2 maelforge came along.
And then there's phase 4 maelforge healing, which is just crazy, it's just completely nuts when you have a mage yelling over mumble for a 4th healer to help out with natural healing. The main feature of Laethys is to have your dps beating the enrage, whereas maelforge has the much more ominous gaining of dmg-stacks everytime someone dies. Execution of phases 2-4 is paramount, if more than 2 people die, it's almost certainly a wipe. These strenuous healing and execution requirements just do not exist anywhere else in the game.
