Taunt Immune Bug

Since 1.8 patch, I, a cleric tank, have been getting a decent amount of Taunt Immunes. Originally was only on Aky adds p2 mostly the Apostle so I assumed it was a bugged MM talent. Last few times we have fought Ituziel however, I have been getting them randomly as well. One attempt EVERY Taunt I had was Immune and we quikly wiped. Our Rogue tank on aky adds has as well experienced this, and alos our warrior tank on Ituziel has at times experienced Taunt immune as I sit stunned waiting to get face slammed by Ituziel, so no way my tuants could be making it immune for him.

I have submitted bug tickets, as well as our warrior tank screenshotted it and is submitting those via email. What I would like to know is if any other guilds have experienced this and happen to know what talents are or can be buggy to cause this taunt immunity.

Taunt has a DR timer. 3 times in 20s = immune

Don't taunt so much.

Are you taunting before ituziel's buff that makes him immune to taunt wears off? Sounds like this is happening. Check the tool tip on the buff he has just before word of incineration goes off.

On akylios this is the same problem that happens with laethys. You can target the mob before it goes active and waste a taunt. The same thing happens on Bringhurst in DD. Just make sure the mob you want to taunt has someone on target of target before you taunt and you'll know it's active. In those cases I agree that it feels a little like a bug and is someone annoying.

I do understand that Ituziel needs to take a cpl of steps towards the booted target then be taunted. I had not pretaunted him till he was on the move towards the other tank. In regards to adds on Aky, they have generally popped up, I am spamming my DoL for aggro, see the apostle go to the MM hit my target maccro for him and taunt and it says taunt immune. I do understand the mechanics and generally do not use taunts and am actually one of those people who complain about people who over taunt.

It means either you, or one of your fellow tanks thinks using taunt on CD is a good idea.

The DR on taunt was implimented to curb griefing (someone walks into your raid rift, taunts boss to cleave people / drag out and reset / etc)

Its usually not a problem if you aren't spamming taunt on CD or going through multiple forms of taunt.

There are a few options here.

1) You have multiple tanks taunting the same mob at the same time
2) Your tanks are bad and messed up on fights and say "wtf its immune" when really they just screwed up
3) In the sace of your warrior - If he is using SO as his taunt it will say immune offen due to the pull, the force taunt still applies.

Its not possible to taunt immune your self with ST taunts even if you use your ST taunt on cd.

Yes it is if you do it on CD every time the fourth taunt will fail but fifth will succeed, you will make it impossible for a second tank to take it off you. (This might be for lag issues like the way you can kill yourself purging sicaron even if your purge cooldown is 10 seconds exactly).


OP: also look for stupid pet users and their taunts, as that can trigger DRs.

No, it isn't.

The lowest CD on any taunt anyone has is 8s

It requires 3 taunts in a 20 second window to make a mob go immune.

3x8 = 24s.

The only way you're gonna get a mob to go taunt immune is if someone else threw in a taunt (either another tank or some derp using a tank pet) or you fatfingered multiple taunts (normal taunt + SO, or any one of the other class' aoe taunts)
