The best and most common excuse i see/get is from about 6-10 people all at the same time. For about 4 out the last 7 weeks infact.

This quote offers insight into why there are so many perceived balance issues. To some, it doesn't matter how good something is; if it isn't the best, it isn't worth using.
One of our raid members didn't show up to a raid some days ago. The excuse he gave us one day later was harsh: His 18months old daughter has been trying to eat a coin that got stuck in her airway and he had to go to the hospital with her. True story I guess, and probably the BEST (for real!) excuse ever.
There is no rogue dev. Prove me wrong.
We one had one of our healers going afk in a 10 man because the police was at his door. He didn't come back until 2 days later.
