Default Idea how to stop the Instant Adventure leeching

    Hi,

As many others have stated before, the leeching of Instant Adventures is very annoying. I have been thinking of a system how to prevent this. This would instant kick a person from IA group if he/she
    A) has not been in quest area for the past two adventures
    OR
    B) has not contributed for the past two quests (hitting a mob/ picking up a quest item/etc.)

    Just an idea.

    Or you could vote-kick them.

vote kick often fails, people not paying attention, not being able to vote due to being in combat, etc.

Would suck for B) if you just got really bad luck. Like 20+ people swarming the quest zone beating you to all quest mobs and items.

As there is no lockout for being kicked all it usually results in is getting a fresh teleport to the quest area. Normally I'll get kicked for not responding for a teleport while I'm tabbed and not because there was a vote kick. Hard to kick people from a raid when half of the raid is afk anyway.

I frequently either AFK these, go kill unrelated mobs out of exp range of the group but not the IA, farm Carmintium. It's more productive than Sanctum laps and requires about as much attention. Rage all you want but you there's simply no reason not to do it if I don't have something better to do. Harder to do this on Keenblade than it was on Seastone as they're not as populated so I'll usually contribute a lot more but only run them 5 or 10 minutes at a time instead of living in them for a few hours while doing something else.

If they are not AFK, they can just requeue/rejoin IA and not miss a beat.

How could people leech?! I've loved IA since I turned lvl 45 (considering I got 45-50 in like.. 5 hours?).

Maybe I'm a number fanatic but using AoE spells on a huge clump of enemies it's a satisfying thing for me.

I've never actually seen that work.

Here's a problem I have with this... I would have booted from the IA that I was actively participating in last night. After a defend the wardstone in the valley near the prison in Shimmersand, the objectives change to something on the bridge over the bay. It turns out that I didn't know the fastest way to get up there and by the time I got up there, two objectives have been completed. This is not even considering that some of the objectives do not take much time to finish especially if there is high number of participants.

This idea would just be an annoyance. If anything, make it a timer. For example, if there wasn't any participation in any of the adventures for, let's say, 10 minutes, then auto-boot.

The problems with leechers and afkers was brought up again and again and again while the feature was in testing. Trion didn't respond. I think it's pretty much working as intended, as annoying as it is.

Another problem with AFKers is they tend to roam in guild groups so if you try and vote kick a guild mate they all vote no and they're still AFK on follow.
Be careful of the words you speak. Keep them short and sweet! For you may never know, from day to day, which ones you will have to eat!

This thread has opened a lot of new possibilities. As I predicted my original idea needs refining, and the timer that was suggested would be very good thing. Also there should be a lockout for joining if you get kicked from IA due to inactivity. I just hope Trion reads these feedbacks and takes them into account with new release.

Why would you want to kick an AFK'r and make the group smaller when the experience gains/quest objectives grow larger in a full raid? ..group bonus

Umm. Larger group, larger objective -> takes longer to finish quests with bunch of freeloaders just sitting there to reap the rewards.

Hmm... I always thoght that the more you contribute, the better your chances are at getting good loot. Ergo, if people leech (read: afk) their contribution will decrease, and consequently yours will increase. So, while these so called leechers still get rewarded, their lack of contribution works in your favour.
