    Default Nerf to Akylios' geysers?

    RIFT 1.6.1 Hotfix #9 - 8:00am PST 1/24/12 [NA] - 2:00am GMT 25/1/12 [EU]
    GENERAL
    * Hammerknell: Jornaru: Reduced the damage and stun duration of the Mana Pincers' Mana Pinch ability.

    I saw that nerf but I noticed that you also have a ton more reaction time to getting out of geysers now as well.

    Ninja nerf? Or did I miss a patch note somewhere along the way...

    We noticed this as well. Substantial reaction time difference on the geysers. I couldnt find it in the patch notes either but it's not a glitch. There is a major difference in them now.

    Just helps avoid those RNG deaths in p1 more. Not a huge change to the encounter as a whole though.

    Guildies were already sitting in geysers pre this hot fix. Useless mechanic just there to keep you on your toes for waves IMO.

    Actually in the original encounter, Geyser happened in P4 too. Was a ***** and a half with 4 directional waves and geysers and breaths and MCs. Was super chaotic!

    They had bigger dreams for geyser but only left it in p1

    We havent made it to P4 yet, but im pretty sure Corinne would quit the game uf there were geysers in p4

    In your guys kill I didn't notice geysers or 4 direction waves. Was this part of the enrage timer nerf?

    Lmfao.

    The geyser while a huge ninja nerf is nice.

    I used to be able to get out of like half of them if lucky.

    Now I can sit there for 10 seconds, then move and get out.

    Was just a slightly too much of a nerf IMO. You need zilch reaction time, whereas before you couldn't have enough reaction time unless you were already running damn near.

    You have to realize there were numerous Akylios nerfs through a 4-5week period as Special Olympics, Maximation, and Voodoo slammed our faces against him for hours and hours a week.

    The Geyser thing actually was a Stealth nerf as it wasnt in the patch notes. I think it came with the patch to remove the Front and Back waves from the encounter. The patch after that one was the one that changed the cerebral bore dmg (it used to do 13k damage every second to the raid, now its does ~1k). Then it was killable.

    Of course i could be wrong with the order of patches since there were so many, gradually fixing/nerfing akylios, but it was definitely near the end of his reign.

    Don't be so defensive, quiet. I wasn't trying to offend you or your guild. I am a huge fan of top guilds and what you guys do/go through. I admire you guys a bunch being a raider myself. I was just trying to make sure.

    Nah i wasnt being defensive, i was just saying there were tons of patches changing that fight. Add in the fact that the geyser thing was a stealth nerf when it was removed in p4 and its hard to actually nail down when it happened.

    It should give you an additional 3/4 to a second of run time.

    Sad that I didn't even notice the change...don't think I ever got hit by the stupid thing in the first place but that's largely because I only ever had it under me if was moving away for waves and was already mobile.
