New Raid Rifts broken?

Watched a group last night do the fire rift and saw two chests awarded. It was on the tear right next to the island puzzle entrance if that matters.

This issue was fixed yesterday (11/29)

Just asked a GM, they said

if there is something broken and it's consuming items in a way that is not intended we will restore the items you lost as it isn't your fault but ours.

No idea why the GM added that response about only one item restoration every 6 months, it clearly shouldn't apply in that case.

Did the Earth raid rift last night, near ember watch. Finished up phase 3, only 1 chest spawned. Not sure these are actually working yet.

We did one of each last night, received both chests.

Loot's pretty nice for someone looking to make the jump into T2s -- had a decent 1h dagger drop from Fire and a 1h axe from Earth, among other things.
