Uruluuk -- purgable buffs is the new boss mechanic norm?

Can we get a dev. response to clarify whether or not these buffs being purgable was intended?

I don't know of any other bosses where major abilities being purgable was intended (save things like reflect shields and HoTs that are re-applied quickly). Especially not when that purging makes the fight nigh trivial.

This fight is not trivial, the ability to purge does not make it so.

There are many mechanics at work during this encounter, and is not only a dps check, but a competency check. As a single mistake made by 1 or 2 members could cost you the kill. More dps, better gear, gives you more breathing room, but it doesn't change that reality.

The fight is well balanced, and as with all things, once you learn the mechanicst and develop a strat, it becomes easier.

The way the 10 man is currently stacked, I don't see how 10 tier2 equip'd people could finish it, even with no mistakes. The competency checks on some of the other fights, are less forgiving than this one. That said, I think its very enjoyable.

Why would purging be an issue? Your tank can add it to their macro and it becomes moot. What made this trivial for us was simply spreading out for EP post 30%

Warden Falidore, Calyx, The Gedlo Conclave (specifically Nuggo) all have purgable buffs that make the fights fairly easy if you purge them.

In that case, none that I know of (but since this is new content, it makes sense that they'd throw in new/old mechanics).

actually, the three kings are bugged right now, if you purge them it removes the debuff they throw out when they die, they recast it, but if you purge it a second time, they wont recast it again.

Yes its possible since you can DPS faster than he regens. Many times I just didn't purge the last 5% (10 sec cd i hate you) and we killed him easily.

Our dps cleric caught wife aggro when he was at about 10%

boy did that suck since nobody was using a heal debuff as we were relying on the purge, longest 18 minutes of my life.
