    Default Lord Greenscale Help

My guild has been attempting Lord Greenscale since Sunday. We keep wiping from the following problems:

1.) Rogue tank (150ish toughness / 208 life resist) is difficult for 4 healers (3 clerics and 1 chloro) to keep up even when we rotate cooldowns (healer's cov. and the big purifier shield).

2.) Ranged DPS is having a hard time killing the wisps

3.) Ranged DPS seems to have a really hard time killing brackens.

Our ranged dps consisted of 4 stormcaller mages and 2 rogues with that arrow aoe ****. The rest of our DPS was warrior melee and offhealer/support.

Anyway, we get to the final ground phase once out of every two attempts. In that phase, we die to massive damage from wisps and / or all the damn brackens/plants on the ground.

Is the aforementioned data sufficient to diagnose our problem?

Kiting Greenscale around the room makes phase 4 far more manageable. The pollens still need to die quickly, but some of the brackens can be ignored. It's pretty much a burn phase. 4 stormcallers should make the encounter a joke though. Pollen will die exceptionally fast lol

Bring more RDPS, they make this fight, and have 2 51 puris rotate cooldowns with the tank for fumes. Save cov for an emergency. Have your RDPS all have a macro to target brackens and wisps and have someone call out when they spawn. In the last phase, kill wisps before bracken and the tank should drag LGS around the lair so a lot of the bracken don't need to be killed.

Can't say. As a Warrior with a little bit more life resist, I only need three healers (51 Purifiers and a Warden/Sent and chloro obviously). A rogue with that much shouldn't take...much damage at all. Only thing I can think of is there is either bad cooldown timing or someone is just not doing something right. (I do not know the exact rotations rogues should be using on that fight)

2.) Ranged DPS is having a hard time killing the wisps

3.) Ranged DPS seems to have a really hard time killing brackens.
Set up Target Macros. You may get something dead occasionally but tap it again to get a live one. Be sure to be calling out for Brackens and Wisps. These are very important. In last phase however, we kite greenscale around the room to avoid having to kill brackens entirely letting our ranged focus entirely on wisps. (Can't have those doubling / adding a buff to the iguana god)

Our ranged dps consisted of 4 stormcaller mages and 2 rogues with that arrow aoe ****. The rest of our DPS was warrior melee and offhealer/support.
We run about the same number of Ranged (well give or take, usually around 5. 2 SC or so, and 3 Rogues).

From a tanking perspective, one thing that helps is lowering the amount of breath phases there are. While the first phase there is no way to speed it up, when your tank has the annihilator try to get the bubble to be placed where the pets are attacking GSB this allows your Melee to go all out on him. We sometimes start the second phase with him 64% (and so forth for subsequent phases) which makes transitioning very quick and smooth.

We find its easier in the 3rd and 4th ground phase to have ranged burn pollen and bracken.

Also note you want your folks to move when he starts casting plants not after they POP.

Sometimes the breath would take him from full to zero even with our CD. Is 150 toughness sufficient?

People stopped doing this when it was discovered they were targeting dead ****. Guess it's worth another try.

    We've been doing this.

    .
Yes it's sufficient. That just means somebody is dropping the ball on their cooldown if that's happening.

4 Stormcallers is way overkill....your ranged need to do a better job killing the pollen, it's as simple as that. 208 Life Resist to be honest with you isn't going to keep your tank alive if you miss cooldowns and such too.

We have a warrior tank on greenscale, not a rogue, and the rogue tank doing the plants. Also, what % is he dropping down to, meaning are you killing alll the adds during air phase? There is absolutely no reason you should get overrun by pollens, 4 stormcallers, also we clear up the bracken before he comes down once we get the shield on the ground, to make kiting easier.

It kind of sounds like you need more attentive ranged dps, it's a nuke when he drops down out of 4th phase, pollen is all you should be killing until about 9%, then you can ignore it.

Maybe we're using the wrong ones. We use Healer's covenent and the big purifier shield. We tend to lose the tank most often on the big purifier shield.

    We've gotten him to 8%.

I'd just like to reiterate that moving LGS around the outer edge of the room in a circle makes Pollens much much more visible. An Archon using Power Drain during breaths is something else to consider, and healers timing large heals during the cast for the first tick of the breath help aside from CD's (tank healing 201).

LGS starts 2s cast for breath, start 3s Restorative Flame cast. First tick happens RF hits (times 2 or 3 for the amount of Purifiers), tank goes back to full. Second tick resume regular healing/shielding/mashing buttons in a panic hoping your tank doesn't die etc.

Or you could use ONE purifier, who cycles Spiritual Conflagration, Rite of Ancestors, and a Flashover + Touch the Light instant RF.

If the tank calls his mitigation %'s in accordance with a SMART purifier, you only need one. All your other clerics can sentinel warden or senticar for the win.

I think your RS may be doing something very wrong. Even when we were doing the fight as progression, we didn't need any 51 purifiers. Is he 51/8/7 RS/BD/Bard? Right now for us, it feels like Greenscale's cleave/melee hits do more then his breath to our RS. 150 toughness is all you need for him.

As for pollen/brackens, kill brackens in phase 3, try to kill them in the air phase but prioritize the pollens, even over the adds. For our first kill, Greenscale started the final ground phase at 31% due to us trying to kill pollen. In the final phase, just kite him around the outside of the room, avoid brackens/shrooms, prioritize pollen then Greenscale. We also have our plant person get the debuff from the pool right before adds spawn, so he can kill plants in the final phase, which helps a little bit if your healers can manage it.
