    50 is the short Answer.

    The long answer is:

    Start Doing the level 49-50 dungeons for some decent gear. (Depending on your class.) There are quests you get in the dungeons.
    Abyssal Precipice (49-50) - Iron Pine
    Charmer's Caldera (49-50) - Shimmersand

    Once you get the quest rewards for these 2 dungeons you are basically ready for T1's (More or less depending on how well you play. If you are not that good, you might want to get some more gear first.)

    Then you can start doing these dungeons.

    Realm of the Fae - Silverwood
    Iron Tomb - Freemarch
    The Foul Cascade - Scarlet Gorge
    King's Breach - Scarwood Reach
    Fall of Lantern Hook - Droughtlands

    There are daily quests for each of these dungeons. You can find them in your capital city. 1 quest a day. Depending on what gear drops and how many times you run the dungeons and get Plaques.

    Basically you want to keep running the dungeons until you get a decent amount of gear, you will also want to save up Plaques to buy "Plaque Gear" you can buy the plaque gear in your capital city also. The merchants are called "Relic merchants" I believe.

    after you finish those dungeons you can move onto what is called the T2 dungeons

    Realm of the Fae - Silverwood
    Iron Tomb - Freemarch
    The Foul Cascade - Scarlet Gorge
    King's Breach - Scarwood Reach
    Fall of Lantern Hook - Droughtlands

    Again Do the daily quests for Plaques, and keep running the dungeons for gear drops.

    If you have 1/2 a set of T2 gear and 1/2 a set of T1 gear you will most 'likely' be ready for RAIDs.
    (PS I off-tanked a Raid with 0 toughness and only 40-48 quested gear and was just fine, but that's thanks to AMAZING healers, not my skills. So being Raid ready is based on A LOT of factors.)

    After that you will want to find a Raid for GSB or RoS.

    Now there are other ways to get raid ready. You can run around doing rifts solo and build up to expert rifts, and raid rifts, and do daily rift quests for inscribed soul something... I do not actually know how to do this, but this is another path to get items to gear you up for raids.

    I am still learning and may have some of this wrong. Anyone please feel free to correct me or provide a better explanation.

    Oh yes thanks to This post and Zor for the Dungeon progression.

    First dungeon is Realm of the Fae, lvl 15-16 (Guardian side, can be done by both factions), then ther is Iron Tomb, lvl 17-18 (Defiant side, can be done by both factions).
    the guy above me forgot that characters dont get created at lvl 50, you have actually 50 levels to run before that...

    Well if that's how people want to be. here is Zor's breakdown of each dungeon and level.

    5-man instances currently available in Rift:

    Standard Difficulty Dungeons Available
    - Realm of the Fae (16-17) - Silverwood
    - Iron Tomb (18-19) - Freemarch
    - Darkening Deeps (22-23) - Gloamwood
    - Deepstrike Mines (25-26) - Stonefield
    - The Foul Cascade (29-30) - Scarlet Gorge
    - King's Breach (34-35) - Scarwood Reach
    - Runic Descent (39-40) - Moonshade Highlands
    - Fall of Lantern Hook (43-44) - Droughtlands
    - Abyssal Precipice (49-50) - Iron Pine
    - Charmer's Caldera (49-50) - Shimmersand

    Expert Difficulty Dungeons Available
    - Realm of the Fae (50+) - Silverwood
    - Iron Tomb (50+) - Freemarch
    - The Foul Cascade (50+) - Scarlet Gorge
    - King's Breach (50+) - Scarwood Reach
    - Fall of Lantern Hook (50+) - Droughtlands
    - Darkening Deeps (50++) - Gloamwood
    - Deepstrike Mines (50++) - Stonefield
    - Runic Descent (50++) - Moonshade Highlands
    - Abyssal Precipice (50++) - Iron Pine
    - Charmer's Caldera (50++) - Shimmersand

    Technically you can raid at level 6 Since many rifts and invasions are raids, but to really raid you will have to wait till 48-50 to do some of the weekly raid quests. and then 50 and gear up GsB and RoS.
