Default How much dps should a fresh 50 be shooting for?

Single target dps. I'd like to get an idea of what I should be doing using advanced combat tracker.

Well isn't there an overall number you should be shooting for?

I'm playing either a cleric inquisitor or shaman.

Fresh out as an Inq you might get 300 if you're lucky considering you probably have 0 Focus. As a shaman, probably even less. Hope you weren't hoping for higher numbers. The correct answer for a dps class was Rogue.

whats the point of having dps souls as a cleric if the dps sucks? They don't really bring much else to the table : /

Leveling at a decent pace instead of rolling a non-healer class out of boredom.

Because the shaman druid play style appealed to me when I was looking at the soul trees when I started the game. Sorry the description didn't say "you're a master of the elements, and oh by the way you'll be gimped at end game"

There's no reason it shouldn't be competitive with other souls.

i'm INQ/CAB/ and I can easily crit for 1100 off BD and i'm only 45 atm

CAB does some serious damage too just aoe.

SHA/JUST is just a tank that can throw out decent dps for a tank.

Or you went and bought notoriety rings and neck and have 70ish focus/hit 10 seconds after you hit 50? Just saying.

    to OP.
Check out my guide on getting ready for xperts, With gear you can get from 48-50 if you prepare right you can be expert dungeon ready 10 min after you hit 50. Doing at very least 500 dps on dummy.

And you think I can't crit for that much either? just because you can crit for decent damage on a 3 second cast time that is only worth using when its instant from a proc does not mean your sustained dps is good.

Shaman is not a tank either. Its a pure dps spec.

I saw cleric (zero idea what spec, but melee. with zero t1 gear do 900+ on 3 mob tash pulls and 600+ single target. So there u go about what is possible, and i doubt that is the limit.

As Shaman with full teir 1 set I get about 700 sustained single target DPS, with burst reaching roughly 800-900. As an Inq/Cab AoE DPS reaches 1100-1200, while single target boss fights I get 300-400. I suspect a 'fresh' 50 will be about 200-300 less.

I have a crappy Cab build that easily does 300-400 dps during a full expert run with out trying to hard. Im sure there is lots of room for improvement in it. Some pulls i hit 1000+
