Default Weather blockers and Terrain paint

I'm curious as to what success people have had with these items.

I can't seem to get most of the terrain paints to work (Charred seems fine, others, like Desert or Life do nothing that I can see). I've tried them on multiple items, grounds with no effect. If I have an area that shows the Charred one working, I swap it out for the others, but still nothing.

Same goes for the weather blockers. There's a section in Icewatch I put a string of the Weather blocking cubes up, and yet, it only seems to work sometimes.

I'd love to hear about others' success or failures in getting these to work. Not sure why they're available if they do nothing really.

    Thanks a bunch!

For terrain paints to work at all in your advanced video settings, Projected textures *must* be on... I have made and used every one I am aware of with no issues, the only one I can comment on is the water terrain pain. It seems to switch out (become invisible) at distance much closer than the others...

I seem to recall weather blocking as always been buggy but I haven't really dug into it much (the 2 or 3 times I needed it, it worked well so I will let others comment on that).

Well, I have the settings correct, because some of them work, but most don't. Like I said, Charred works fine, but try using snow or life or desert and nada.

I'm using the desert paint in Moonriven Breach and it works on the coral very well. It works so good, plants that I added on top of rocks have a tan color to them. Lol. Maybe paints work better with some keys than others?

I had much better luck consistently seeing terrain paints when I turned up my video settings for particle effects, but it can cause lag. However, I've found that the instructions to log out of your dimension and back in to be able to see them is sometimes useful for all vfx.

There are some dimensions where cobblestone elements of the base environment are not considered a building block, so paint will not show up at all unless you add a building block to cover it up (Edgestone Ridge, Dolcega Valley, Plaza Aurentine,). Then there are the exceptions: Hailol and some others - I need to retest.

I recommend testing all paints in an anywhere dimension so you can see what they look like and how they show up for your computer.

I cannot add any useful information here, but I think the charred earth terrain paint works differently than the other terrain paints, as in it's the only one that can be resized... but I might be wrong. Being different may be the reason why you can only see that one and not the others.
