Default New Dimension - Three Temples (Deepwood)

Hi all! I've been working on a new Dimension. This one is set in Three Springs and I've covered up the lodge in a giant Mesoamerican inspired temple. It's a great building but it's not quite my style. Parts of it actually do stick out but I've treated those as footholds for trees that have grown on the stonework (a lot like the state of the Mayan pyramids when those were rediscovered). I added two others to arrive at the name of the place. I've got a long ways to go, but here are some starter images:

The fun part was seeing how far down the bases of the largest pyramids would have to go. The Mesoamerican styled pyramid goes down all the way to the water at the base of Three Springs, and the more classic pyramid was a bit tricky since the base goes past the dimension barrier. I ended up moving the whole thing around a lot. This has also been a fun challenge in regard to working with what's there and making your build work.

    Default Update:

    Hi all,

So, I've done some changes. I thought the Mesoamerican styled pyramid was great but I realized it didn't quite fit with the other two temples, so down it came. The lodge is a difficult building to cover up but the Kelari stone staircases came in handy. I think this is a more interesting, imposing building. It's not entirely finished, and will have some additional things added (probably three Kelari temples for their spires added to the top). The following picture shows the building, though now there's a number of ponds around the plaza, and one in front with pillars, lamps and braziers. I'll try to get shots later. But for now, here's the building:

It took some finagling with the friends list, but I managed to see this. I think the new covering for the lodge actually looks far more Dwarven than what Trion put there. I'm not sure why they have dwarves living in hobbit buildings.

I couldn't BELIEVE there were only 230 items so far!!! Awesome!

    Thanks Treble!

Yeah, I'm not sure why the Dwarves are living in what are Hobbit houses in Moonshade, but I always thought they'd have a more angular quality to their architecture, something far more epic in scope (even if they're half the height of the humans). You actually hit the nail on the head though as to the look. I hadn't intended to do a "Classic Dwarf" style but realized the angular, step downs to the main building were Dwarven in style (now if only we can get matching doors).

The building is actually going to go further down to that lower pathway. It looks like its floating but I need more Kelari steps and they're not exactly dirt cheap (though, I wouldn't say expensive, but you know.. funds and all )

Oh forgot to say yes, it's less than 300 items and most of the items in it are from the Kelari steps but thankfully i can expand them VERY big. If I couldn't expand the steps there'd be a LOT more items in it. When I had the original pyramid where the lodge is, it was something like 100+ Gloamwood walls just to get the pyramid down to the lower path.

I actually even tried making a classic pyramid with the Kelari steps but the pyramid base ran right through the green barrier which is how I arrived at the current lodge covering.

So, I had enough credits for one more Kelari temple, but also used one of the existing ones as a test for the spires on the roof of the big lodge shell./temple. I like the result. Also couple of shots around the plaza for the second two images.

Where did the stone pillars come from if you don't mind me asking? ( the ones at the bottom of the page. )

Those are the Brevane Pillars. Dirt cheap in terms of credits (just one credit each). I'm not sure if you have to have your notoriety up with one of the factions to get them though, but they are found in the store.

Hi guys! I've been working on a part of the temple grounds that contains a tunnel and a sort of meadow up top. I felt the gully along the edge leading down to the waterfall area was a bit awkward without anything there so I decided to wall it in and create a tunnel. Not an easy thing because of two pines in the way, but I've incorporated them as if they've sprouted and grown in a small room in the middle. The rock arch was also awkward, but it worked as the foundation for some walls that funnel people down toward the tunnel:

Alright, so I've been working on this Dimension even more and have come up with some new features. I have to say thanks to those who have run Empyrean Core expert level and got all of the artifacts because I've bought a few pouring water effects. These people have made plenty of coin off of me. .

I actually decided to build a small pond behind the rock arch and open it up as accessible from the main tunnel. It's a nice little hidden spot, and it has a great framed view. There's also a couple of unlucky fellows in the main tunnel.
