    Default Sumus Futui (Pompeii): Greybriar

A dimension built for a friend, Sumus Futui is Pompeii right before Mount Vesuvius buried the city beneath 25 meters of ash. The city itself was too vast for any one dimension to be able to hold it all, so we improvised, adapted and overcame.

Some original pictures that provided the basis of the dimension:

    The Rift take:

    The city streets: http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/Fe...ml?sort=3&o=14

A small apartment for a young family: http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/Fe...tml?sort=3&o=9

    The baths: http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/Fe...ml?sort=3&o=15

The bakery (where the baker kept track of who owed him money with hash marks on the walls): http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/Fe...ml?sort=3&o=13

    The farmer house: http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/Fe...tml?sort=3&o=6

The Temple of Jupiter (which was actually destroyed in an earthquake 17 years before Vesuvius erupted): http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/Fe...tml?sort=3&o=0

    Impending doom: http://s1314.photobucket.com/user/Fe...tml?sort=3&o=7

This was a very educational build (volcano morphing is NOT my strong suit), as well as a very challenging one. I hope that visitors enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

    Dimension: Edge of Infinity
    Owner: Zodiaq
    Shard: Greybriar

Regarding the name: It is a literal translation through Google Translator that means We Are Screwed (only with the more mature version of the word).

Wow this is great, you've set this build up to really capture the emotional energy of the real pictures. The pool area is beautiful. Looking forward to visiting this one!

Very beautiful. And a little sad at the same time, knowing what's about to happen. So you get points for yet another amazing construction, bonus points for evoking an emotion beyond the typical "ooohs" and "aaahs", and even more points for getting past that pesky language filter (I couldn't even get the word "damned" in mine, lol).

The build is awesome and the title is perfect as well as hilarious. Makes me grin every time I think of it.

Thank you for all the positive feedback. Building for another person is also a bit sad in its own way, but totally worth it at the same time.

@Zyonyx: You can say anything in Latin and, of course, it must be something cool and profound, so the filters are impressed and let it stand.

The pictures don't do it justice.

Everyone should visit this dimension! Even if your computer can't normally handle it, try cranking up the video settings at least for a few minutes.

    I visited yesterday evening.

Blown away. This dim is great. I never imagined someone to use this dimension for that purpose. Great job.

I swear Feendish should get a unique title "Boss of The Edge" or something, as everything I have seen from this person in that dimension has been breathtaking, and this is no exception! Stunning as always!

    Thank you!

I love EoI for three reasons:

It's free (well, not counting the money spent to cap out purple tier).

It has a Dormant Core sized item count.

It's the closest thing we have to a blank slate. Taking into account the edging around the platforms and the angular difference between the platforms, EoI is the closest thing we currently have to a plain, flat surface.

I'm a huge fan of environmental work, but attempts in places like Moonshade Pools and Faen's have really disappointed me because there's too many lumps, bumps and too much ground clutter already in place.

Now, all we need is the sunny sky projector, and we'd be set...

I couldn't agree more. It would be so awesome if we could have nightglow items work in there as well. To me, that's the biggest drawback.

I love this dimension, Feendish. Glad to have you back home on GB where all your awesome dims belong! ;p
