Default [Dim Sugg]: Names and Name Plates

When doing detailed work on items close up, my nameplate gets in the way far too much.

Give me some sort of option to disable my nameplate and my name while in my Dim.

Whether this be just in Edit Mode or whether thru a checkbox or whether thru just zoning in. I need to be able to see my items more easily.

This is NOT something that should effect my raid settings or open world settings. I do NOT want to be going from open world event bosses to my Dim and each time reconfiguring my settings.

Switch it off? Its three clicks to do so.

Also do you use a second item for close up work and Shift Click so you have more flexibility?

Example: Moving a small cube, 2nd object is a yellow sphere.
Click on cube then shift click on yellow sphere and use sphere to move.
This way nothing is center of the screen but your vision is clear.

I have my nameplate set for combat only. Is also the easiest way I've found to track Warrior sword pings.

Switch it off? Its 5 clicks to do so.
    Esc > Settings >Interface > Nameplates > Disable

Also do you use a second item for close up work and Ctrl D so you have more flexibility?

Example: Moving a small cube, 2nd object is a yellow sphere.
Click on cube then yellow sphere and use sphere to move.
This way nothing is center of the screen but your vision is clear.

Also, don't forget that while you have the edit arrows/wheels active, you can hit CTRL+U to hide all the UI, yet the editing mode will stay there. That will get EVERYTHING out of your way.

Keep in mind CTRL+U has 3 stages:
    Hit once: All UI gone
Hit twice: All other's names/guild labels disappear
Hit thrice: Resets everything back to normal.

    And yes, I said "thrice".

I've tried this method, but in the end the 3 arrows stay pretty much in the same place.

Are you saying if You have to fine tune an item you

    1. click the item
    2. click another item that is off screen (behind you) or something?

The only time I've ever moved multiple objects is when they were together like a couch set up. So I've never tried placing a generic item behind me in hopes of getting the arrows off my screen.

While I do use this sometimes, with CTRL-U all displays disappear including addon info from toolbox and carpet. I like having that info. I just feels too unnatural to me. (

I'd rather have a permanent solution than a work around.

I've tried this setting as well. Only problem is I prefer to have it up 100% of the time outside of Dims so I have full info the way I like to read it.

Making it combat only or on Harm can be another work around while in a Dim (if I unclick the Show Your Name option on names tab; otherwise my name and guild name are just in the way), but I play 100% all aspects of the game and the idea of having to remember to go into my settings each and every time I go into and out of my Dim just does not seem viable for me.

The programming is already there with going into EDIT Mode: cause all the action bars disappear. Just simply add the Name plate option in there to disappear when people go into Edit Mode and then all people have to do it so got the Name tab in settings and uncheck *Show Your Name* if they like.

This is what I do, especially since sometimes the dimension UI itself gets in the way. You can still use 1 2 3 4 5 to switch between rotating etc.
