    Default Ethereal Planar Dust

Can someone explain the process of how to get ethereal planar dust to me, I'm runebreaking exotic leather belts to get components to make glyphof dust, but I have two types of components left over that I could use to make glyph of storms, but in order to do that I need ethereal planar dusts and there is virtually 0 usable information on the process or at least information I understand.
    Thanks in advance.

Yeah I went to the vendor located in meridian from that link and that's where my confusion came from, it shows price being 24 silver but the npc wants some kind of blue currency and some other kind of dust, and I don't even know what that blue currency is. It looks like you're supposed to start with one thing and work your way up the ladder. I guess.

Probably best to just sell the mats for glyph of storms to the store and be done with it. I was just looking for ways to cut down on excess left over items from runebreaking.

Oh, sorry to hear the link wasnt really helpful,
In the end you might just want to drop em jn by ah or just vendor i guess.
This may have some bit more info

(Ancient article i know, still gives some usable info)
Apparently the blue thing you said is another rank of planar dust, given ethereal is ranked 5.

Sorry I'm not really helping and just resorting to links. Cant login for the while and these are the only ways i can try at the least >.>

Right on thanks for the info. I was thinking there might be a way to get them with salvaging apothecary but one site I read said you can't break down the dust/shards whatever they are like you can with the components you get from runebreaking, I'll figure it out though. thanks again.

Ethereal Planar dust comes from closing rifts in Freemarch or Silverwood (looted from those mobs or dropped in your planar loot bag.

You can also trade a higher ranked planar dust for a lower ranked one from https://rift.magelo.com/en/npc/11636...mert#sellTable in Sanctum or https://rift.magelo.com/en/npc/17850...hegi#sellTable in Meridian.

Empyrean Planar Dust for Eternal Planar dust
Eternal Planar dust for Endless Planar Dust
Endless Planar Dust for Enduring Planar Dust
Enduring Planar Dust for Shifting Planar Dust
Shifting Planar Dust for Ethereal Planar Dust

The higher ranked the dust, the higher the zone level needs to be when closing rifts and killing planar mobs.
    Empyrean comes from SL zones.
Eternal from high level vanilla zones (Ember isle, Stillmoor, Shimmersand)...and on down the line.

I'll just try to ah the components, I have way too many of them to want to run out and close rifts too, thanks for the info, I favorited the pages for use with an alt

There is no secret, when this was relevant content (i.e. the launch of the game) you could get them regularly from salvaging planar essences with apothecary making it abundant (as you could just buy essences from vendors). In addition massive numbers of players were clearing rifts and events creating a large natural source of them.

However Trion removed salvage essence (along with several other salvage skills) which made Rifts the only farmable source, but afaik never took feedback to the change or bother to consider increasing the rate from rifts or remove that salvage component from recipes.

As a result of being part of a generally unused portion of the game they are rather uncommon now.
