Newb question

Just started playing the game this past week or so and am really enjoying it. I've got all three of the gathering professions on my main. I've done this in pretty much every game I've played because, early on at least, it seems to be the easiest to level and there's almost always buyers for the gathered materials.

My question is does having two alternate characters do all my crafting hamper me in the long run? I haven't seen anything to indicate that there are BOP crafted items. I'm a little confused by that because usually there's a couple items that each type of crafter can make better than otherwise available that they can't trade away.

Currently, the only drawback to having low level crafters is that you won't be able to purchase faction recipes from Ember Isle, Stillmoor, IPP, etc. You probably won't be able to get the PvP recipes either, but not entirely sure on that one.

So far, there aren't any BoP recipes (via drops) in game. There used to be, but they changed them all to BoE a few patches ago.

If you really want to get into crafting. Then having multiple alts with max crafting means more of the 20hr CD materials you can craft.. and more of the weeklies you can run for Master Marks to get the rarer recipes from vendors. So I'd say no, it's not a hamper, just have to invest time to getting all the mats to level your crafting.

I'd say get a harvester up to LVL: 50 so you can farm the mats for your alts crafting.

focus on crafting for yourself and what you need for your character first

eg:rogue/mage - butcher/outfit/runecraft
war/cleric-miner armorsmth....
