I also never ever saw Pure Distillate drop.

The dev who decided these drop rates should be shot with cat piss. I really cant see there point in it.

Trion knows how insanely rare distillate quest item drops are. And ore quest items, and leather quest items. They just don't seem to think it's very high on the priority list to fix.

As I've indicated in other posts of this nature, the quest item drops are from the ingredients in the final recipe. The same is true for leather, cloth, wood and ore rare recipes.

Pristine Distillate - 1 Tempestflower Stems, 2 Twilight Bloom Roots, 1 Aqua Regia

You will then find the quest item from foraging Tempestflower Stems or Twilight Bloom Roots

I've had more cloth and leather recipe quests drop for me than i can shake my sword at, but with 21 tempest flowers and 14 twilightbloom, zero pristine dist. Yet the dailys that require it have been sitting in my quest log for about a week.

I thought I'd take a crack at farming this in Iron Pine after buying them at an insane cost for weeks. 150 (2.5 hrs. approx.) Twilight Bloom later and I finally got it. Iron Pine seems to be the most reliable when it comes to TB spawns. Barely any down time if you just run back and forth behind the Chancel. Good luck and happy hunting!

just absurd drop rates.

finally got my pristine last night.
(After about 15 AP, 9 CC)
well over 150 TB, 80tempest.

Still don't have pure. (300+roc orchid) I got potent while running to an Expert FC.
I have caelias vest, black/white dye, all dyes in fact, legendary spell crit, legendary phsy crit, might bright/power/end surge lol. but didnt have pristine yet. just plain silly.

I know of about 3 TB spots in SS atm. IPP sounds good by what you say though.


Drakefoot is of course one of the other highly desired. Not becuase its super rare, just everything uses it, and uses it by the truckload.
I'll pass along my secret spot for that.
The flatyard. 2 spawns on cliff behind, 3 possible inside, 10 spawn locations around the base of it in the valley. Can also spawn as bloodshade of course. Which you will hate when you have 500 of it. But does make mana and health pots.

Ok, I'm totally F'ing pissed.

I have three crafting professions on two different chars + all three gathering profs on one char. I spent over a week and a half farming this stupid thing on my gatherer, for my apothecary char...only to find out the f'cking thing is BOP.

Why the h@ll did they make the quest starters BoP? This is stupid. I'm not about to drop a level 300 craft just so that I can level a gathering profession I ALREADY HAVE at 300 to learn a recipe. Trion has really dropped the ball on this. I'm about ready to call CS and rip them a new one.

I definitely agree with you, Corrin. If you'll recall, those crafting quests did not used to be BoP. That was something that Trion actually felt it was worth the man hours to change, lord only knows why. It was an irritating change and a waste of man hours spent on their part. I only hope they will feel it worth the man hours needed to change it back.

I have been farming nodes ad nauseum and still lack a single distillate recipe.

I'm giving up. I was going to try and finish up some orders first, but I can't. I'm sending people money and materials they gave me back because I cannot get any distaillates and I cannot get any Darkened Bones.

FYI, my current count is -

~680 Soulhides = 0 Darkened Bones (I've tried every skinnable mob in Shimmer, Stillmoor and IPP).
~900 Twilight Blooms = 0 Pristine Distillate recipe (I even tried the one in Crystal Caves or whatever that everyone says has a high drop rate for it and nothing).

I entered a ticket and the GM told me it's 100% random and actually had the gall to explain to my how random worked, with examples of rolling dice and I jsut stopped reading and responded to him and let him know I didn't like being treated like an idiot.

I've entered feedback in game, on the forums and even nothing. Trion doesn't care about crafting, they are about raids and the broken world event they keep trying to fix and that's it. Friggin sad.

A guildmate told me the same thing. so I went over there and farmed the node in the cave's entrance for a few hours. No drop at all. The respawn rate of the node is also pretty low, about once per hour. However yesterday I found out that it seems that node was linked to another node of the same kind close to the cave (if you run straight from the caves entrance you run into it). If I farmed both nodes, they would respawn every 15 minutes or so. So I did that for a while and about 15 node farms later the pristine sap item dropped (from the node in the crystal caves).

I was a happy bunny.

Good news!!! First plant I harvested after update dropped the pure sap on my 33 Rogue, not an apothecary. Farmed Roc Orchards on my 50 Warrior for 15 min. in Scarwood Reach and got the Pure Sap quest on my Apoth, farming Twilight Blooms now!

After reading this thread http://rift.zam.com/en/item/B892E8CE...ine-Distillate I went to Chancel of Labors and roamed around Crystal Caverns. I found 2 nodes for twilight blooms. The second one I harvested I got the Pristine Sap drop which starts the quest "Elegent Evolution". Which then leads to the quest "Master Distiller". This quest requires 10 Tempest flowers and 10 Twilight Blooms. Once this step is complete you receive the recipe for "Pristine Distilate".

I guess I got pretty lucky, because some people have been harvesting these for days with no luck. I heard the drop rate for the pristine sap is around 1%.

the drop rate has been increased significantly with 1.2, and added to other nodes as well. I found it the other day on a drakefoot, making the 4th time ive found it.
