Default Gear at 70 + DPS ballparking

Probably better to post this here.

So I'm seeing best case Tempest DPS pegged at 600-750k, spikes into the million, 1.2m mark.

Just curious what kind of live gear level this presumes, and what a player should expect to achieve at various tiers - presuming, of course, solid rotation and macro set up.

("The best gear you can get at 70!")

But seriously. If anyone can give a ballpark DPS level for the following, myself and a friend I'm leveling/gearing would be grateful. Copy & paste and go nuts.

    - A mix of crafted blues and PvP gear:

    - A mix of crafted blues and SPE expert gear:

    - A mix of SPE expert gear and PvP gear:

    - A mix of crafted purps and PvP gear:

    - A mix of crafted purps and SPE expert gear:

    - A mix of T1 raid and crafted blues:

    - A mix of T1 raid and crafted purps:

    - A mix of T1 raid and experts:

Thanks! I know it may have been easier to simply ask for target AP/CP etc. values, but I'd like to see raw ballparking on various gear mixes. Don't think too hard on it - be spontaneous, spit out your estimations.

For those of us just returning to the game recently and very low on resources, plat, etc. I'd like to see what kind of gear grind it entails to graduate from 250k to 750k range of DPS, and what we might expect to achieve at the intermediary steps.

    Cheers!

I guess I'll reply to this one here instead of the Tempest guide thread. That's a hell of a lot of gear combinations you are asking for and I doubt anyone can give you numbers for so many.

    Here's my suggestions:
    - practice the rotation and just have a go at the dummy. It can be the lvl 67 one in your dimenion if you prefer over Allitu ones.
    - have a look at Warrior Guides > Warrior BiS List for SFP (or look at my signature), make a copy of the spreadsheet, sellect tempest spec and input desired gear/fragments/raid buffs. This is probably your best bet to get those numbers.

    Oh, very handy. Thank you.

It's just a little frustrating, and I'm trying to get knowledge and hand down my experience to my friend so he doesn't have to live through the same crap.

So I've been a Riftblade since the beginning, since early 2011. I love everything about the soul, the theme, the powers, the rotations, the mobility, etc. I was an RB specialist before RB was even en vogue.

But since my return (100% absence since end game SL, right on the cusp of F2P being instated) mid-May, she's not kicking out the numbers that anyone wants. Even with correct adjustments to ability changes since leaving.

Anyway, in my ho-hum blend of crafted 70 blues, purples and PvP gear (and upgraded Eternal) I'm hitting 260k. Feels like a wall right now. I'm 20-30k better on the go-to Tempest.

This is really killing me in Starfall experts. I think it's because mega-geared people are speed grinding experts for the Eternal and want only the best, but I've had 2-3 people literally leave groups saying, "This will take too long, not enough DPS" (not-so-subtle jab at me) even though I've researched the fights, I'm not dying, etc.

Another time I was just asked to leave for a guildie DPS to come in. That's alright of course, though I'm not sure if that was the actual motivation or if they just wanted a 450dps and up to speed grind.

Anyway, I need to run the 70 experts to gear up/token up, so it's the grand irony of not being good enough for these people even though I need to be doing more of that activity to be... good enough for these people.

I'm wondering if my obstacle is currently gear, lag, etc. I've practiced the hell out of builds parsing; none of this min-max is new to me of course being a top raider way back when, I've just been out of the game for a very long time and severely lack resources to go bananas on gear, and do not want to start dropping loads of cash in the store.

I feel marginalized, I tell ya. Like an old war veteran that the young soldiers deem out to the pasture when he comes back to the battlefield, haha.

What's strange is that when I run legacy/SL classics or NT dungeons, Intrepids and Planars, and I see I'm with some well-geared (in 70 stuff) people, I'm consistently top 1-2 DPS. Then it feels like I'm playing in molasses in SPE experts and LFR runs and my damage is poo.

Well, all I can do is keep trying to improve and squeeze out more damage. I do miss my RB, though. It's just not competitive enough now, and I've actually been criticized (again, by folks in SPE and LFR TD) when I'm spec'd RB, like it's some poisonous thing that one should not be touching right now.

I enjoy Tempest well enough, so I suppose I'll begrudgingly try to take that towards 400k territory. I'm hoping for my friend, who is 68 and rising, to avoid similar strife going forward.

*I'll add that this universal co-dependency on Sergeant's Order legendary for spike damage is straight-up weird/unappealing from a design perspective, as a developer myself. But it is what it is.

if you look at the early posts of the guides, before or around Feb, you will get a decent estimate of SPE gear dps. However fragments are going to make a massive difference. With SPE gear a good frags you can pull more than full TD eith terrible frags

I have 2 Warriors. Hey, what can I say, I love the warrior (3 really, but the lvl 53 I'm not counting).

All parses were performed on a single lvl 67 Raid Boss Dummy in my dimension. No consumables, only using self-buff abilities.

You're missing one category, which one of my Warriors is at.
    * Upgraded Eternal (on the Experts stage), with green open world drops.
This warrior is averaging around 325K over a 5 minute parsing test.

    * 1st Stage Blue Eternal (on the IRotP stage), with Preserver T1 gear (I normally only tank). Exception is my for Shoulders, those being upgraded TD.
If luck is on my side (*sigh* it rarely seems to be though) and crit during those 5 secs of SO, the wavelength average DPS is in the 1.5 million range (spikes upwards of ~2.8 mil), non-SO wavelength DPS is in the 900K'ish range. The average DPS over 5 minutes, I sit around the 620K range.

For what it's worth, I've opened in excess of 300 Mage (Revered and Honored) coffers trying for the Death CP Fragments, and I've yet to get a single one. So my CP is only at 28.5%, AP at ~44K, PhysCrit at 43.91%.

I feel your pain on the death frags. Im using a caster tier 1 CP on my rogue and consider myself lucky just to have 2 with CP regardless the secondaries. Ive opened at least 1000 between my alts, I gave up on honored ones, both of my CP ones came from revered.

Thank you both very much for the feedback.

Well - 'So my CP is only at 28.5%, AP at ~44K, PhysCrit at 43.91%.'

That says it all! I still have work to do.
