Default Changes to Warrior tanks on PTS for 2.3

Several changes to Warrior tanks that will go up onto PTS shortly. The goal is to spread out mitigation more evenly across levels and reduce the reliance of specific talents and top tier abilities to reach the mitigation goals.

Paladin: Reverent Protection: Now applies absorption to group members with the lowest HP by percentage. The amount absorbed has been increased.
Paladin: Pacification: Now causes Pacifying Strike to reduce damage taken by 1-3%.
Paladin: Protector’s Fury: Now also causes Righteous Fury to reduce damage taken by 1% per stack.
Paladin: Light’s Benediction: Now deals Life damage and reduces damage taken by 7%.
Paladin: Unyielding Defense: Now also reduces damage taken from spells by 3-9%.

Void Knight: Protective Shield: Absorption from Protective Shield has been increased.
Void Knight: Unstable Void: Now reduces damage taken by 5%.
Void Knight: Rift Distortion: Now also reduces damage taken from spells by 4%.
Void Knight: Surging Touch: Now also reduces damage taken from spells by 1-2%.
Void Knight: Accord of Shifting: Now also reduces damage taken from spell by 0.5% per Pact.

Reaver: Crest of Consumption: No longer increases healing done by Soul Feast by 20%. Now, it increases healing received by 20%.
Reaver: Binding of Shadow: Now also reduces damage taken from spells by 3%.
Reaver: Power From the Masses: Now reduces damage taken by 1-5%.
Reaver: Ethereal Bond: Now also reduces damage taken from spells by 1-3%.
Reaver: Crest of the Shadow: Amount absorbed has been increased.
Reaver: Walks with Death: Now also reduces damage taken from spells by 2-6%.

Please update when this is put on PTS, thanks ;-). I'll see how many dumb hybrids I can come up with (although I'm liking that new 61 pally ability).

I think rift has not enough tentacled monsters.

Any news on changing heals/absorbs to scale off end instead of AP?

It will scale of AP. You can choose between more End or more Abs.

    Fantastic.

Small request: tweak Paragon to make native finishers a clear dps gain over RB finishers and some of us would be eternally grateful.

Oh, and bring back our beloved PotW/PotR(H) if you're feeling jaunty.
what is this I don't even

I second this...but the follow up from disconnects is the biggest thing I have against paragon running fluidly and why so few people run it imo.

Also please for the love of 8lb 6oz baby Jesus, put brostorm on instant with all the other RB finishers.

Please clarify the void knight magic mit changes. Currently Unstable Void has 5% non spell damage reduction as well as 15% magic mitigation. So is it changing to flat 10% damage reduction or is it going to be changed to a flat 5%, with only 11% magic mitigation made up with the other changes? Just adding it up 61VK looks like it's losing 4% magic mitigation.

Unstable Void on PTS is 5% Non-Spell and 5% Spell Mitigation
Unstable Void on Live is 5% Non-Spell and 15% Spell Mitigation

However the changes to Devourer, Surging Touch and Rift Distortion mean 61 Void Knight actually gains 1% Spell Mitiagtion. The difference is that it's no longer so dependent on Unstable Void so Void Knight is more usable when leveling.

Ok that's fine then. Was a bit worried at the wording.

Then they will continue to not be used unless they are tacked onto something else like the tanking CDs. These are abilities in tank souls, except for maybe some funky pvp build you will be using them in tank gear. It makes no sense to scale them off of AP as it makes them basically useless in pve. If you buff them to the point where they are useful while in tank gear they would be op in pvp, making them scale off of some sort of tank stat (end makes the most sense, but could go with block for all I care) means that you could make them worthwhile in pve and wouldn't have them be op in pvp.

I think what Ailion is saying is:

He's retweaked the absorption values of shields for VK based on a proportion of AP that you have, and his statement is probably referring to Endurance and Absorption (Abs) With this in mind, we may see some itemization changes for tanks- i'm thinking AP on some items with lower Endurance... It seems bizarre considering the current trend of tanking- but it looks like they are going for a Abs tank vs End tank binary opposition. Which could be interesting given the amount of damage the new world/raid bosses can dish out--- it really depends on how big the scaling is tbh lol.

Again I may be totally wrong lololol
