PTS 1.8 DPS Calculator Updated

Seems the previous thread got locked, anyways here's the latest version of my calculator for the PTS:

It's still a work in progress, and I have a million things to do hopefully by the time 1.8 releases, but it should be more or less up to date.

Included rotations are:

2H 51 Champ 15 RB
2H 43 RB 23 CH
2H 41RB/23CH/2RV
DW 44 Para 3IB
DW 44PR/22CH w/ SB
DW 44PR/22CH
DW 38PR/222CH/6RB

I'm looking to add 40 Champ/26 BM and 51 Para/15 RB soon, and possibly others.

As always let me know if you have any suggestions or find any errors.

Will be interested in the new BIS. I made my own list using a 3:1 ratio, but I think it might be a bit higher.

Totally hijacking Ferboten's thread, but its about 5:1 for 1.8

Ferboten has put a new weighting feature on his calc. Enter spec, click button, and voila.

Wow 5:1? I did some rough napkin math that gave me that answer, but I dismissed it. That'd indicate that AP > Crit even before the cap.

Edit: lol @ so many epic pieces being BIS over relics now. Hope I have those ROTP gloves somewhere.

Edit2: I'm not sure how you handled Frost Strike buff. But I'm pretty sure you need a separate column for Frost strike enhanced Searing Strike. Also, please add 51 RB/15 Para DW! Thanks

It's not pretty, but basically the formula for searing strike dps counts the number of frost strikes as the number of enhanced searing strikes, with the remainder being regular searing strikes. There are 4 damage values in the searing strike column for the enhanced and unenhanced hits.

K I'll check it out more. I'm mainly interested because the 38+RB/Para builds don't have any non-enhanced.

So..what's the ratio before the cap then? Is it really ~2:1 then, like it should have been according to the stat budgets on items?
And does that mean we can pretty much ignore crit cap in 1.8. I'm really curious - in other threads people went "yeah, crit cap is still > all" and i couldn't quite believe it.

Are you still working on the dpscalc for 1.8? For the 51 champ build it lists the crit weight as high as 0.6 for 1 ap and I gave up on trying to figure out why champ skills seem to get such a big bonus from crit without any bearings or anything active.

Yes, I've done some work on the calculator but it still has a ways to go. I've been working on my own dev version and just finished updating it to the current PTS. It has rotations for 51 CH/13 RB/2 BM, 51 CH/9 PR/6 RB, 43 RB/23 CH, 38 PR/22 CH/6 RB, and 44 PR/22 CH. It looks like that will be the roster for now until I have more time to add others.

I'll try to do a few more changes today and put up a "beta" version so that people will at least have something to look at before 1.8 releases.
