38 RB/8Champ/20Para for pve Dps
Has anyone tried this build?
I'm just starting to build my dps set (lifetime tank thus far) and have had some good success on test dummies getting my dps up to 650 using suncusher. I went to 38 RB for rift strike because my current unbuffed crit is only about 20%.
I was looking for some help with building macros for this. I've read mixed reviews about incorporating frost strike and improved freeze armor into the rotation.
There are a few RB/CH/Para DPS specs that do very well in 5-mans and often match or beatout the cookie cutter BM based builds......but like I said....only for 5-mans.

In a dungeon against any of those other Warriors I would have been within +/- 100dps with my RB/CH/Para spec.
Trion needs to do something because having 4 DPS souls yet only one clearly optimal spec combo for raids is messed up. Seeing raids filled with purple cats where all the DPS Warriors are running the same exact spec IMO is a sign of the Rift soul system failing.

Truth there. It would be better if other builds even came close to the chp/BM/para, but they don't. I got good results with 38RB/22CHM/6PAR for awhile, and its still decent enough for 5 man trash and the few dungeon bosses where pets create a hassle, but it still falls hundreds of DPS short of the pet builds. If it were close, I might be able to live with that, but its not close, not even in the same league. Even without tablets or weaponstones or other power buffs the pet builds still blow RB variants out of the water. Kind of defeats the purpose of all of those DPS souls when there is one combination that is so ridiculously better than the others. For warrior tanks, at least, there are still a few viable options that do the same thing in different ways.

You might think, hell, that's a waste getting those 2H +physical damage talents when all I do is riftblade stuff - that's what I thought - but half your damage is going to come from rising waterfall and buffing the crap out of that with the chm talents has given me better results than going for the +20% from Way of The Mountain/weapon master/flowing strikes.
The 20 points in para also lets you slap two weapons on and do decent enough ranged damage, which my variant does not really allow - though again, with the changes to the dungeons, ranged isn't really a necessary part of a warrior's repertoire anymore for T1-T2, so I didn't mind giving it up.
I gave up on using imp freeze armor though - I wasn't seeing a noticeable DPS increase with it. With your build, however, and the 5/5 weapon master, it might be worth it because you will be throwing out fiery bursts like it's your god given duty. Frost strike too might be worth it, but with path of the wind in your macro, as well as rising waterfall and rift strike, chances are you aren't going to get down to searing strike all that often, but its still decent enough and nice to have up for when you do get a searing strike in. If you use thunder strike for AE though, which you likely will because of not going far enough into champ to get the +targets for mighty blow, then frost strike is definitely worthwhile.
I might even recommend taking the points from grim satisfaction in your build and sticking them in the +str or deadly strike - with planar blade, you should be getting more than enough power from your crits.
Just my opinion, I am not raiding yet, but I have tinkered around with alot of builds and spent alot of time parsing crap at that silly dummy.
