Default Tanking (What its all about!)

Well, I thought I'd give it another shot. Right now I'm looking for gear/spec talk since I'm 49.5.

I had in mind for my play style:

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1c...ic0Mz.Vuat00km

That spec. Its heavily ment for AoE tanking, which can also be incorprated easily, possibly by bug, into normal single target spec.

I have what I'd call basica gear, Spark mace from CC quest with AP enchant on it, low shield (38) from some instance, a random tank green bow (36), ruby gorget, (don't laugh) freemarch warden's badge (13), Runeguard rep ring, 28 +block tanki ring.

Helm is Sandstorm helm(44) which is +parry with a +hit enchant on it rather then +str or others. Have Deft darkmetal pauldrons(38) I made myself enchanted with +10 dex, Body(48) I have the CC end quest (Or is it AP?) tank chest with toughness added to it, gloves(48) from first CC boss, 33 DPS belt (sucks), Mighty carmintium cuisses(47) made by myself again, and smouldaron's iron shoes(48) too.

My core is set up fine for now until I can get the +block bought lessers, or better things from simmersand.

Alot of information to read and take in, but what I'm asking is what instances to run to upgrade what. I don't know any credible place for loot tables yet, or even if there is a gear chart set up yet. Wiki has a craft one, which half of the time it's not having some recipies bought from the npc's.

    Thanks for now.

    So you wanna tank?

    1 Str = 1 Block
    1 Block = 0.10780% Damage Absorbed

927 Block = ~99% Damage Absorbed (granted your gonna need a lot of buffs and pots to reach this magical block number, but your on the right track with the 50% STR increase from a 10 stack of void knight pacts)

So basically pile on as much STR as you can, anything that increases STR in your skill tree or on your items. As a benefit of STR stacking you get more DPS and MORE parry along with your block.

Also, you can drop Stalwart shield for now, because its currently broken and doesn't actually do anything, so wasted 5 points.

There's some good info in the following links, and you'll see some people who have experienced the end game commenting, although not every poster there has:

Was working when I logged in yesterday
It's not a damage meters fault you can't hit a certain dps and others similar to you can, it's the fault of your bad gear, bad spec, or bad rotation. So stop getting mad at the meters and invest some time into not being bad.

Reset your skilpoints, look at your "Block" stat, then add 5 points and look at your Block again. There will be no change in the stat, therefore it is NOT working. Points would be better spent in champion "Titans Strength" that gives +10% STR which will add to your DPS, Block, and Parry.

How about the possibility that the stat sheet doesn't update from the talent? I don't recall any plus % stat talent showing up in the stat sheet of any calling I've played. I wouldn't assume it's not working. That said, it should be tested.
