    Default Sab Critique please

I am new to subscription MMOs but have played a couple free ones in the past. I was able to play 3 days of the open beta with a rogue and had a lot of fun with the Saboteur's abilities so i decided on that as my main soul. After playing around with the soul tree calculator I came up with the following build and would like to hear some veterans opinions.

    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1M....EVMbEdxkoRz.V

I went 44 points into Sab to get Last Stand.
I picked Assassin for my backup because I thought stealth would help ensure I stay outside of melee range, I get +5% crit chance, some damage buffs, and still have some melee skills if i ever need to use them.
I added Ranger for the +5% crit chance and it also gives me a tank pet to help level. Plus when I have Annihilation Bomb + Demo Specialist, I will have a range finisher for the combo points.

Do these 3 souls seem to work well together?
Did i spend my points wisely?
What style of player would this consider me as, Ranged DPS?
If i get stuck in a Melee fight, can I expect to last awhile, or will I become a suicide bomber with Last Stand?

I'm excited to play again when it goes live, see you all on the battlefront.

I think this build is much better:

It spends the points wiser as you put it.

Sab pretty much have to get Nightblade for improved Charge / Detonate damage. 3rd soul is pretty much personal choice.

No they don't... Poison potency givees you 15% charge damage, more critical and physical damage, along with a blind and a stun. Not to mention indefinate stealth without a speed debuff. Nightblade is a pve soul.

No builds needed for sab. just spam charges and then hit blast charge. you need about 5 ponits in the tree = I win. ;)

@ Vadar- I dont see why dropping the +5% crit chance in Ranger and losing the tank pet is worth it to just pick up the plane shift. Also, why cloak and dagger over serrated blades? Can you add some reasoning?

@ Brota- How far into Nightblade are you suggesting in-order to pick up the charge/detonate damage?

    Thanks for the fast replies

Serrated blades doesn't affect ranged attacks anymore. It's weird how they spend multiple betas changing it. First it didn't affect ranged, then it did, then they nerfed the ranged part of it so it wasn't as good as melee. Then they just got rid of it again. What a waste of effort that was.

No such thing as a tank pet in pvp. If it's for pve then go ahead.

I thought i read that posions don't apply to charges, only arrows. That why i skipped Poison Potency and also gave up the Improved Stealth. Does the poisons work for charges to?

Posions don't proc on charges, but now the charges are counted as poisons (so they can be cleansed) so posion potency should increase their damage. Posion only procs on weapon attacks, not ranged skills.

Ok wow that change really gives a blow to everyone... and yea the tank pet was a bonus for leveling purposes, the +5% crit increase was the main reason for me to go ranger.

So if i switch serrated blades to cloak and dagger:
    http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1M....EVMbEdxkoRz.V

Would my ideal rotation be: Stealth, Paralyzing Strike, Run back while adding charges, then detonate and repeat with charges/detonate as needed? Once I have Annihilation Bomb + Demo Specialist I would use that if its available and range finisher for the combo points, then back to charges.

Apparently you can you incapacitate and attach charges.

the pet will be useless around lvl 33. the pet will stop leveling with you at level 30 unless you put 24 points into ranger.
