just do them similar to wow macros.

If you want to keep your pet on passive, you can make it

    /petattack
    /cast Empowered Shot

for sabs I use an incriminate macro very often

    /target Tank
    /cast Incriminate
    /targetlasttarget

Same with silent setup and a ranger pet

    Set incriminate on my pet,

    /cast detonate
    /petattack

EQ1 came out in 1999. Wow came out in 2004. Your math is off. No disrespect.

Don't forget the most important macro:

    Code:
    /yell
     I WIN

'Cause that's just how MM rolls..

ok my comment came out wrong, i have played eq for 10 years (long before Wow was thought of ) meaning i played Eq before wow was thought of , and we all know anyhow how eq players hate Wow, althought ive heard it was fun , just havent found anything that matches Eq for Depth
Didnt mean Eq came out 10 years before wow as it sounded like

Heres one I used that saved a key or two.

    /cast trinket for +attack power
    /Cast hit and run
    /cast Empowered Shot

It means that the same key will use your trinket tap it again to start hit n run. then fill up 4 combo points from empowered... all from pressing the same key a few times. You can do all of this while kiting.

    Saves keyboard space

The other macro I was using for a while was pretty generic.
    /cast Splinter Shot
    /Cast empowered Shot

Just a way of saving a hotkey really. You tap twice.

Yeah, it seems the macro system isn't quite as elaborate as I originally hoped. I'm sure many macros will come out as the game progresses. There are several already out for shaman, bards, etc.

One thing I keep trying to search for and no answers.. is a way to remove the stupid error messages in a macro.

I guess theres a UI setting for that...but at the same time I might not want ALL error messages disabled.
I just want the ones from a macro turned off.

They should at least provide a way to suspend error messages from a macro--thats not an exploit just less annoying.

Theres no other game I've ever played that requires so much keyboard space except AOC (because melee swings needed 4 keys just by themselves)

I'm okay with bot prevention but I see no reason with using macros to save keyboard space in a game with 4 roles 8 souls.

    Question Macro Modifier Commands?

Does anyone know how to use modifier commands in Rift? I have tried the standard [modifier=shift] to no avail. If it helps, I am trying to bind all of my tracking spells to one key in order to save room on my action bar.

    Example:

    #show Track Plants
    cast Track Plants
    cast Track Wood
    cast Track Ore

The reason I believe I need modifiers is that Rift does not allow you to chain abilities in a macro - you can only have one ability per macro. I am trying to work around that by using modifiers for Track Wood (shift) and Track Ore (ctrl)

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    Example:

    #show Track Plants
    cast Track Plants
    cast Track Wood
    cast Track Ore
Refer to this macro guide for more info.

Modifiers can be added by adding the modifier key between brackets without any other additon, for instance [ctrl].

    The example would become

    #show Track Plants
    cast [ctrl] Track Wood
    cast [alt] Track Ore
    cast Track Plants

The order has been changed to match the (not-key modified cast) to the chosen show-icon. You will get "only one ability can be cast per macro" warnings. To avoid those, you could add [shift] to Track Plants. I tried experimenting with stopcasting modified by keys, but that yielded nothing yet.
