    Default Marksman or Ranger, Auto ATK..

    Im sorry for this " Stupid " question but i was wondering the following;

    When your spamming ATTACKS against a Target, with the QUEUE ability on (will there still be auto attacks in between?!).

    I tested this only for a few seconds yesterday (didnt really have the time to do so), and i didnt notice any AUTO ATK in between.

    Thus made me wonder;
    What is more effective in the long run? Skill -> Auto atk -> Skill and so on?

    Or just be a spamaholic of skills untill out of energy, and by that time, your auto attack automaticly pops in from time to time?

    Whats your thought?

    Thanks in advance 8)

    PS: Reason why i ask; is because of the MARKSMAN auto atk add combo points (high in the tree)< and the 50% double atk from Ranger.

    Man, I've sometimes wondered if Auto attack even works.. lol.

    I just spam my combo builder after my 2 point combo timed shot. So, spam spam spam then hit your 5 point finisher and start over again. I have noticed what looks like an auto shot firing around the same time as a skilled shot.

    Best advice, spam your skilled shots and don't worry about auto. Your DPS will be higher if you are using your skilled shots as soon as they are available. And energy goes up hella quick anyway.

    And do you use the QUEUE ability FULL? Or Half? or non at all.

    I personally find the QUEUE one (Full) the most handy, as the rotation is constantly going.

    As far as I know the auto-attack is working, I assume that it's the 'white' damage that pops up inbetween your skill damage.

    this, it works for most skills, however when using the bard ability you dont get any auto attacks at all inbetween it which really lowers dps, also using instants raises ur dps more than using that 2second shot/finish as both stop your auto attack and since you are hasted, ruin your dps.

    once ppl start getting parsers up im sure they will find out the most dps will be quick shot 5pt to rapid shot then quick shot to haste shot until rapid shot fades then repeat with no variance whatsoever.

    Auto-attack IS working, but not if you're using channeled or spamming skills (depending on latency). I can go four to five spells on my Cleric before I see any auto-attack at all. On my Bard, if I'm spamming Cadence twice, then a finisher (for example), I'll often *not* see an auto-attack in between.

    In the five runs we did in Lantern Hook tonight, our top Rogue DPS (Ranger/Marks/Sab) only had 5%-6% of her total damage come from her auto attacks. Since they removed AP affecting auto attacks, that's dropped ~10%-15% in contribution (used to account for ~15%-20% of her total DPS). For our other Rogue DPS (Ranger/Bard), his auto attack capped at 5% of his total DPS.

    At the moment, auto attacks, especially for ranged Rogues, isn't worth augmenting with talent points, IMO.

    As Hokonoso mentioned, any channeled skills prevent auto attacking. For Rangers using Rain of Arrows, that's six seconds of nada. Ranger/Bard means they could potentially go upwards of 10 seconds without seeing an auto attack (RoA+Cadence).

    Same with Marksman and strafe. Or a marksman kiting, which is 85-90% of the time.
